Delicious food, actually a lot less spicy than I anticipated, maybe we didn’t order the super spicy ones. All the food tasted fresh, favor was the eggplant, the chicken/pigs feet could have a bit more flavor, fish was fresh and salted cured ham was… Well oily and salty, great with rice.

Very authentic hunan food that I definitely didn’t except to find in LA. The portion is very big as well. We ordered the eggplant with century egg, beef and fish with soup. Super tasty.
One minor thing is the fish has a lot of scales in it, and rice is extra. But still, highly recommended

This restaurant is often recommended as one of the best Hunan cuisine spots in the LA area, so it can get pretty busy. Parking is a bit challenging in the small plaza where it’s located. We ordered two dishes: the Crunchy Spicy Chicken Nuggets and the Cumin Beef on the Hot Plate. The chicken nuggets were a bit tough to chew and not something we’d order again, but the cumin beef was flavorful and very enjoyable. Overall, it’s an okay spot for Hunan cuisine. We might come back to try other dishes the next time we’re in the area.

Walked in on a weekend night. Place was clean and organized each dish came out at different timings. Overall experience was just okay not thing really special. Servers were okay too.. only thing I would recommend was the eggplant and century egg. Not sure if I’ll be back again. But if you can take on hard spice definitely check it out.

The food is well seasoned and tasty. It’s on the heavier salty side with oil. For most people it will be spicy.

We ordered the sauerkraut and it was a blend of savory and sour flavors.
The pork came fried with rice puff/crackers that gave a nice crunch and texture without being too hard.

The eggplant included century egg and was also quite salty.

Everything was balanced out by the star, rice.

The coconut balls were crispy on the outside and filled with coconut and sago and was not overly sweet.

For the whole meal it was about ~$88 overall and leftovers were taken home.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in so cal. I am not from the Hunan region so can’t comment on authenticity. But the foods are GOOD! Their bullfrog is a must try. But it’s spicy. The service is pretty good, but the wait time during weekends could be long. Make sure you either reserve a table or send someone early in the group to get in line early.

As a Hunanese traveling to the U.S., I was curious to see how our home cuisine tastes abroad. To my surprise, it was very authentic—the flavors were rich and bold, and the spices were not compromised, unlike in Singapore where the dishes are often modified to suit local preferences. The portions here are also incredibly generous, so be careful not to over-order—you’ll likely be taking some home!

The restaurant was very busy, and we were offered to share a table, which speaks to its popularity.

Overall, highly recommended.

The food is authentic but not very signature, also I feel like the flavor is not as good as before

Came in on a Friday night as soon as they opened. Very clean on the inside and friendly waitresses. The food is as close to authentic flavor of China as you can get. If you’re ordering a spicy dish, you better be ready to enjoy it because their spice level means business.

If Yelp allowed zero stars, that’s exactly what I would give this place. The service and how they treat customers is an absolute disaster. We arrived first and there were clearly empty tables available, but the staff flat-out refused to seat us. They insisted on saving those tables for potential parties of four. Instead, they made us stand around and wait for a 2-person table to finish eating and leave! I have never seen such ridiculous service—ignoring paying customers who are already in the door for hypothetical ones. If you want to pay to get treated poorly, come here. Avoid at all costs!
