We stopped in for a bite and tried the brisket sandwich and brisket sliders. The brisket was really good – tender and flavorful. Fries were a standout: crispy and well-seasoned. The sides were just okay, nothing special but fine overall.
Definitely not the healthiest meal, but it was a satisfying guilty pleasure. Would go back when we’re in the mood for something hearty and casual.

Cainos is our favorite family restaurant in Eastern NC for lunch and dinner. My favorite is the Volcaino with brisket. The potato salad is hands down our favorite. Loved them so much, they catered our wedding! Such a great small, family business. Head down to Bear Creek in Hubert and enjoy a hardy BBQ meal!

Huge thanks to the couple we met on Bear Island for recommending Caino’s. We went for dinner and enjoyed the food and the laid-back, family style environment. No one left hungry.
My husband ordered a dinner with three types of meat. The Brisket was falling apart tender. He tried all three sauces and enjoyed them all. I had been craving fried okra and it was perfectly fried and salted. The fried shrimp was light and delicious. My kids and dad enjoyed ribs that were also tender and falling off the bone. My mom’s steak bites and green beans were delicious too. We also had Mac & Cheese, potato salad, and baked beans, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed! We would absolutely return. My parents plan to soon.

I had called ahead of time because I saw they closed at eight and they were willing to stay open a little longer for me to come in and grab my food and pay. The staff was so friendly and so welcoming and very helpful and I definitely plan on coming back. It’s a kind of hole in the wall type of restaurant, hidden down a dead-end road that leads to the water so if you go in the evening you can watch the sunset while you eat. Food wise, I got the barbecue sandwich and the pork was so delicious and flavorful, the coleslaw was a little weird to me. It seems to be mustard-based almost, the fries were just your plain old fries – crinkle cut. I also got the lemon blueberry dessert and I can say that a little goes a long way. It’s very very sweet, but it’s very very delicious. The prices are unbeatable for the taste of the food!

Cute little place with country charm. Friendly staff and lots of chicken/pulled pork/brisket/rib options. This is an order/Pay at the counter place where you find your own seat. The seating area and kitchen are only separated by a counter so it is Pretty hot in the dining room and would make me consider ordering ‘to go’ next time. Brisket volcano was really good!

Man… where have you been all my life? Date night & we found this spot by accident and the second we walked in we felt right at home. Sheila greeted us and her suggestions were amazing. Hard to find good ribs in the Jax area but we did. Tender and flavorful… not a fan of mustard based sauces, but that “PAPPY’S” sauce made me a believer. The fried oysters are definitely a must have. Finished it off with a banana pudding and peach cobbler (accompanied with vanilla ice cream). All the food was amazing. A true “Mom & Pop” spot that brings out all I love about NC. Say hello to your new “regulars”!

This place is awesome! The hush puppies were incredible and come with any portion of the meat. Sausage was moist and deeply flavorful, and we loved the ribs and pulled pork. And the service was fantastic—the servers were attentive but not overbearing, and very sweet. And they brought us extra hush puppies since we were two sharing a platter for 1. Nice, down-home atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.
