Mimo is a decent little joint tucked away on Spruce Street, just a bit further down from King Tin if you’re coming from the direction of Columbia Street. We got the Pad Thai, House Fried Rice, Massaman Curry, Pad See Eww (Spring Rolls & Tom Yum – not pictured) I would say most things tasted good. The Pad See Eww needed more sauce, it was a bit dry but good flavour. The Rice was delicious and so was the Curry. My partner liked his Pad Thai as well. They fell short with the Tom Yum, it just needed more of that bold flavour that makes your palate sing. The pork spring rolls tasted like carrots and is loaded with mostly vegetables but for the price of $6 for 2 you can’t really expect much better, just needed less carrots because it’s all I could taste. Everything else though was good. It’s a bit dark and cold inside the restaurant so I’d say it could use some love to bring some warmth to the atmosphere. The young lady at the counter first walked past us but they were busy and once we had her attention she was incredibly friendly, polite and accommodating. She did a great job explaining some menu items and was very nice. Hats off to the one Chef we saw back there just going at it as they do get busy with walk in students and their daily specials. Thank you for a lovely meal Mimo. I look forward to seeing you continue to thrive in Waterloo.

First time coming and we had a great experience with the staff they were very intentive and friendly. It was incredible service and we really enjoyed that. Now the mango salad was amazing for the fact it actually had mango not like other places, the beef fried rice was decent but I felt it was missing salt but the beef was tender and good. Now for the panang curry we got it chicken and the chicken was tender and delicious and the vegetables were perfectly cooked in the curry, the only thing I felt again was the salt was missing but the base flavour of the curry was delicious and we did get exceptional service.

I went here for the first time and it was amazing. The portions were great, the staff was friendly and the vibe was nice as well. I got the Khao Sai with chicken and it was really flavourful, the chicken inside it was also really tasty and not bland at all. I tried a bit of the green curry and that was also really really good. I’d recommend this to anyone in the area, and if you’re a student bring your ID for 10% off.

Mimo Thai is this very cute little local restaurant that serves extremely tasty Thai food. The place is small with limited seating but is very aesthetic. They have their daily specials (see picture in the review) and their food is Bomb. My personal recommendations are Pad Kee Mao & the Red Thai Curry with some spicy chilli oil on the side.
The staff is very courteous and friendly. There aren’t enough parking spots so you might have to park on the street but it’s usually fine. The prices are extremely economical and their quantity is great.
Definitely recommend this place to treat your taste-buds with some great tasting Thai Food.

One of the best Thai food I had in Waterloo. Welcome with friendly staff. They carefully handle the order with a thanks note. The food is really tasty and a good one. Pad Thai is a really tasty one. Highly recommended for dine-in for a cool interior and environment. Students can get it 10% discount

Had a great experience! The server was so kind and delivered all of our orders together in cute little bags with our names on them! We were a large group of students who had just waited in line at another restaurant for nearly 2 hours for free food before being turned away due to limited supply. 20 minutes after ordering, this really hit the spot and we were finally cured of hunger. I got the chicken pad thai! It was flavourful, sweet and the portions are quite large. If I wasn’t so hungry, I would have definitely had leftovers. One issue was that I was pretty thirsty afterward and downed about 3 glasses of water when I got home.

Mimo Thai in Waterloo is a small restaurant located on Spruce street. We went on a Thursday evening and dined in. We ordered first before we grabbed a seat. You get a $2 discount if you’re a student and they have daily specials that are listed on their website. The curries were on sale today ($13.5).
We got the Tom Kha (a coconut based soup), it was only $7. I would not recommend it to someone that doesn’t like coconut since it’s very strong. We always get the yellow curry when we come here, the portion size is big and the curry is very fragrant. It has a little kick to it but I would say it’s more of a low level spice. It is our favourite dish from here.
A new dish we tried was the Pad Krapow – Basil. It was a bit spicier because of the chilis but it was so delicious. The dish was also very fragrant and the portion was huge, we had quite a bit leftover even after eating a lot of it.
Finally, you can’t miss out on their Thai iced tea. It is so concentrated and creamy, the perfect consistency. They don’t always have it because it sells out so grab one if you get the chance!
The only downside is their hours, it is kind of weird so make sure you call them in advance to check if they are open but you can also order through Skipthedishes.
Overall, I highly recommend Mimo Thai. The staff are always so kind and welcoming.

Place is on the come up and definitely trending in the Waterloo area. Great place to come for lunch or dinner. Students also get a 10% discount on their orders!
Place is super hip and serves some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. They seem to be a new place for Waterloo near King St.
Waits can be a bit long so this is a sit down type place. Luckily they have a bunch of board games and Jenga type activities laying around to kill time.
Food is worth the wait, if you do ask for it to be spicy, it will sure in hell be spicy! Finally a real spicy meal 🙂

Extremely nice staff , great food and atmosphere. Ordered Vegeterian Thai Green Curry ( Spicy) the red Chilli inside and the curry flavor is great. Others ordered Red Curry Chicken ( feed back is nicely thin shredded pieces) well marinated with good taste. Another Pad Sew with Tofu which is very good. Recommended place definitely.

It was third time to go there with my friends. The foods are still awesome.
Especially beef fried rice flavor is fantastic, which is ‘불맛’
I prefer to have ‘daily special’ they provide everyday. You can take it lower price.
And they have special oil sauces. One is chili pepper and the other is garlic. It gives you very nice flavor on your dish.
