We had the sliced pork strip for lunch and were really disappointed. The portion was shockingly small, just a few tiny, thin slices of pork. Even after adding two sunny side eggs for extra $3, it still wasn’t enough for one serving. We actually left the place still hungry. I’ve never seen such a small portion at a Vietnamese restaurant before, and honestly can’t imagine how they expect to run a business like this. I’d rather pay a little more and at least get a proper meal

Excellent Pho broth! The medium bowl was big but they could be more generous with the meat. I ordered beef balls for $3 more they cut up 1 beef ball into 4 pieces. Not worth order extras.

The curry noodles was excellent, very spicy. For those who are not used to spicy this might too strong for you.

Decent service. The decor is average, very typical Vietnamese.

Been one of my favorites for many years. I almost always get the pho, but the summer rolls, shrimp cakes, and vermicelli bowls are all amazing. Best pho I’ve ever had. Also it’s not loud, no TVs or loud music, which I appreciate.

Been over 10 yrs since thee last time we ate here. This time we ordered the combo pho and catfish sweet and sour soup (can chua ca’) with rice. They were both delicious. Easy parking, fast service, friendly staff.

Fantastic pho. Got pho tai to go and it was perfect. Hot flavorful broth, fresh tender beef, wonderfully juicy noodles and crisp veggie toppings. If you are visiting Newport, this place is definitely worth a try!

The best place to dine in RI when
when you want to enjoy Vietnemese! It is the absolute best- superior in taste, quality and service! I have a favorite salad here A10 Goi with Shrimp – also now called, Ruthie’s Salad!

Things I love:

The ingredients are fresh, fragrant and well balanced!

The menu is diverse for all culinary favorites – from land to sea and all the vegetables, carnivore, pescatarian, noodle enthusiasts and vegans will all find a favorite to come back for!

It’s clean! So, so clean!

The service is incredibly attentive, friendly and fun- you won’t be able to leave without feeling Minnie spoil you with her beautiful smile, and gracious ability to juggle large and small crowds without missing a beat!

The location is safe and easy to get to from any part of the island.

The iced coffee is awesome. The pho is amazing, the broth is flavorful. Literally the best pho I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is quiet and lovely.

Food is fresh and good but not stunning. The pho broth was a bit sweet for some reason and that made it taste less authentic. The clay pot rice is not actually in a clay pot.

The Pho here is very good; full of flavor with nicely prepared meats that can be added with the side plate of lime and veggies. We also ordered the fried tofu with peanut sauce to enjoy with our Pho, but did not very much care for the taste…probably just us. Overall great service with a friendly staff inside a clean restaurant. I highly recommended Sunrise to anyone looking for the wonderful, almost therapeutic qualities of a well prepared bowl of Pho.

Their mango smoothie is made with real mangos…absolutely tasty! Their dry dishes are fantastic. The pho broth could be richer.
