I’m originally from chicago, and this is the closest you will get to chicago mexican food.This is very authentic and the tacos are awesome, especially the shrimp cocktail.If you eat in here before and enjoyed it please comment and rates. I went to this restaurant today for the first time. It was about 11:15 and I was the only one in the store, it was just me and the cook…who was also the server and cashier. A menu was presented, together with a bowl of chips and three sauces. There were also 4 bottles of hot sauce on the table. The sauces were all very good, as were the chips. I was a bit disappointed that I was not served pico with the chips.
I ordered three Mexican style steak tacos on corn tortillas. It took a while to get the order, about 20 minutes, because it appears that everything was made fresh (from all the chopping I could hear). The tacos were filled to the brim, far more steak than other local Mexican places in the area. They were served steaming hot, and were quite tasty. I have a favorite taco place and this place will not replace it as my favorite, but I will go back.
Total bill for three steak tacos and a bottle of water was $9.87, quite affordable.

Not only is the food delicious but it is reasonably priced for what you get and the service there is excellent always so friendly willing to talk and conversate will be one of my new favorite seafood places around here now I don’t have to go to Rockford or Belvidere or Aurora Chicago.

I came in at 1300 .I had 3 steak tacos. I got them to go. There was no one there just me and the cook. Only took about 5 mins and cost 10 bucks for 3 tacos and a Mexican coke. It’s was fire. I go early in the day. Do not go at 1300. That’s mine time. Find your own.

My wife and I came in to have dinner, we sat down and waited for the waitress to come and take our order. My wife had to repeat her order 3xs since the music was too loud and she couldn’t hear my wife. One of the worst things I witness the waitress not wash her hands with soap she only semi rinsed her hands, after coming back from the kitchen and as she walked towards us she was picking on her tooth.
2nd of all i waited for her for over 30 minutes to ask for more food. And she did not acknowledge me. She kept looking at us and we made a sign to her we needed her and she just kept laughing and play around with the cook. Very unprofessional I have never experienced such a poor customer service. No wonder the restaurant was empty.

The waitress has no idea of what she’s doing, she didn’t know how to use the cashier. We had to wait for her to stop flirting with the cook to even ask if we needed anything. Another customer had to get up and look for a to go box. Because the waitress wouldn’t acknowledge that we were all waiting on her. She was too busy just flirting. Customer service horrible! And dirty.

It’s pretty sad that when the spring valley municipal band was playing in the park right across the road this restaurant had to blare their music outside the front of their restaurant to drown out the band playing…… really sad ……
