I used to come here at least once a week and always loved it, even paying over $25 for a meal and a drink without complaint. Unfortunately, a while back I found a long black hair in my rice, and ever since then I haven’t felt comfortable returning.
What made it worse was noticing that the staff didn’t wear gloves while handling food and didn’t wash their hands in front of me before preparing meals. At times, the place can also smell like a sewer, which is really off putting for a restaurant.
The staff themselves are friendly, but with the hygiene issues and the higher prices, it just doesn’t feel worth it anymore. I wish I had taken a picture of the hair when it happened, but it honestly didn’t cross my mind to write a review at the time. I only have photos I sent to friends and family when I used to recommend Dang Poke

An amazing little Banh Mi shop. Very fresh ingredients that mixed well together. The bread was crunch but not dry. The jalapeños added spice but didn’t overpower. The veggies all were fresh and added a nice crunch. The meats blended together with everything for an amazing overall profile. Ive had a lot of Banh Mi in my days and this was one if the best. I’ll be back for sure.

College Town is lucky to have this spot! Very fresh seafood and delicious flavorful Banh Mi sandwiches! The service is always spectacular and restaurant is clean. They are very fast and with the quality of food, still remain affordable.

Really enjoyed the different flavors of the hokey pokey bowl and the Vietnamese coffee with the boba was just as good to taste as the photos looked – would recommend you try this place

I absolutely love coming here to get a poké bowl and a drink. Their Taro Milk Tea is the best I’ve tried and now I’m working my way through their huge smoothie selection! I always create my own bowl and get exactly what I’m craving. Their food is always fresh. I eat here at least a couple times a month.

Nice people, good food. I like raw fish and I’m pescatarian, my partner eats meat, so it’s nice that we can go together and each get a “make your own” and I can get poke`exacatly how I like it, and he can get cooked chicken and pork in a rice bowl the way he likes it and everyone is happy with their meal.
Also the wasabi (The paste not the sauce) is nice and strong the way I like it!

I’ve gotten takeout poke from here twice.
The ingredients taste fresh and it’s filling. The prices are pretty expensive, but their combo offerings are good. We also had their chicken teriyaki bowl and it was good.
Would recommend for the poke!

This place gets two stars because of the delicious sandwich that was truly Vietnamese, but my problem is with the coffee. I asked for a Vietnamese hot coffee. For those that have had Vietnamese coffee, you would know it is a very strong coffee (usually Cafe Du Monde because it resembles Rubus coffee in Vietnam), that is made with sweetened condensed milk.
I did not get a Vietnamese coffee, nor a strong coffee. The coffee tasted watered down and straight out of a packet. Bought my own Cafe Du Monde and sweetened condensed milk for coffee now since “Authentic Vietnamese coffee” is non-existant in this part of Illinois. Highly disappointed.
