My wife and I went on a whim after leaving UTMC, let me just say everything was incredible! We split several things the Sticky Ribs, Mac and Cheese, Lobster Fries, and their special smoked wings with an Alabama white BBQ sauce. Everything paired great together and was perfectly cooked. Our server/bartender Claire was amazing too! She recommended the lobster fries and the wings. Which we are so happy we tried. We both questioned why they only had one dessert, but quickly understood why when we took the first bite. THE BEST BANANA PUDDING IVE EVER HAD! Kudos to the chef, owner, and employees for everything you all do. I’m a bartender in the area and love to find places I truly enjoy. Definitely will be back.
P.s. we were so hungry we snapped some pics AFTER we took a bite..

We visited our daughter in Nashville and we were heading back home. We looked for places to eat just off of the freeway to not lose a lot of time. The customer service was EXCEPTIONAL and the food was FANTASTIC!! It’s hard to truly give a 10 out of 10 because there’s always a little something that can be improved. Not in this case, because it was an absolute perfect experience between the friendliness of the staff and the food quality. Ben, Kelley and Anne we will absolutely be back!

Omg!!! Sooooo good! We are here with our son that has celiac disease for his birthday. It was our first sit down restaurant experience since his diagnosis and what a wonderful experience! Everything except the brioche buns are gluten free. The food was beyond delicious. The server and kitchen staff were knowledgeable about cross contact and keeping everything safe. It was so nice to be able to relax and know he would be safe. We will definitely be back!

Celebrated birthday here. We sat in front of the kitchen and could see them cooking. Chef and staff were extremely nice. We had burnt end, lobster hushpoppies, pork crackling and mussels with sausage then had brisket and ribs for main. They were very good. We were so full we missed out on pudding. We’ll be back again.

On a recent visit to Knoxville, I had the pleasure of stopping in at Humble Hog and was greeted with warmth.
Kelley made me a perfect version of my cocktail and then brought out some of the most delicious food that I’ve had this year.
Everything had great flavors, it was all the right portion/price ratio, and the execution was flawless.
If you’re in Knoxville, stop in and have some lunch, you’ll be glad you did.

My best friend and I came to The Humble Hog for a girls night. She’s gluten free and I’m not but that didn’t matter, everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. There were other fried veggies in the bowl, like red peppers, onions and cauliflower. The dipping sauce was amazing! We ordered the pulled pork sandwich on a corn pone, what a game changer! The sweetness from the cornbread mixed with the saltiness from the pork was out of this world! We ordered three sides: kimchi brussel sprouts (10/10), Mac n cheese (couldn’t even tell it was gluten free), and the french fries (10/10). The service was amazing, we sat in the back and our server checked on us frequently. For dessert, we had the banana pudding, the gluten free banana bread layer was heavenly. We were blown away! We will definitely be back!

This was a mixed bag for me. We went on a Saturday at opening. Atmosphere is awesome, I love the decor and layout. Started with some drinks and appetizers – the brisket-fat-washed Old Fashioned was a hit. Solid Bloody Mary too. Fried pickles were great, same for the cracklins.
One of our party ordered lobster fries, and that was delicious. Two of us were excited for brisket, but there was none to be had. For me, if you don’t have brisket all the time, are you even a BBQ joint? Settled for spareribs. Nice smoke ring, nice seasoning, but they were incredibly dry. My guess if these were under a heat lamp for a while – no idea when they were smoked.
Our server was top notch. She was very attentive and friendly, and created a fantastically welcoming air.
The ribs and lack of brisket were a huge letdown. Everything else was really solid, so it’s a bit disappointing. I might go back, but if I’m around the Old City I think other places will draw my desire more.
