We ordered for pickup and could barely stop long enough to take pictures once we got home (please excuse the messy pictures). Everything was very good. We got a masala dosa (weekend special pricing), samosa choley, chicken sukka, parota, and mango lassi.
The dosa came with the usual chutneys and sambar (soup). I could tell the filling was made fresh because of the texture of the coriander and chili pieces.
The samosa choley came filled with samosas, curries, and toppings.
The chicken sukka was new to us—and is now a new favourite! My boyfriend could not speak more highly of it and finished it all with the parota.
The mango lassi is thick, sweet, and tastes like mango and yogurt. What a treat. The 12oz was definitely enough for me.
The staff were friendly and was happy to meet a new face—this business serves regulars who live nearby. We’d definitely consider this restaurant a hidden gem near MacEwan.

I tried TDS Café recently and honestly, the food was amazing! I ordered the masala dosa — it was super crispy and tasty, with a nice spicy potato filling inside. The sambar was flavourful and the chutneys were perfect, especially the red one, so good!
The place felt clean, cozy, and the staff were really nice. It gave me real South Indian vibes and reminded me of home food. Definitely going back again!

Absolutely loved this place! The dosas were perfectly crisp, flavorful, and served hot. The chutneys and sambar had that authentic South Indian taste you don’t find everywhere. The staff was friendly and made sure everything was served fresh and quick. Clean place, great service, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving real South Indian food in Edmonton!

I ordered Chicken Biryani today and requested it not to be spicy. They really made it the way I asked, and I was so happy! I’ve had experiences before where my request was ignored, but here they cared and got it right. Delicious food and great service!❤️

One of the Best authentic Indian restaurant in all of Edmonton, a hidden gem! I have tried most of their dishes now, and I love their Dosa and Pav-Bhaji the most. They have vegetarian and non-veg options. Very tasty and filling.
I also highly recommend their mango lassi.
Sometimes I order a takeout, they include all the utensils, extra sauce you would ever need. You can tell that they really care! Great service

Had an amazing experience at TDS Cafe downtown. The staff were super nice and still let us dine in even tho it was closing time. The dosas were crazy smooth, honestly never had that texture anywhere. Even the vadapav was so good. The owner is really kind and generous too. Easily the best dosa I’ve had. Highly recommend and will be back for sure!

Excellent place for authentic South Indian food. The dosas are crisp, perfectly cooked, and generously filled, with fresh coconut chutney and flavorful sambar that actually tastes homemade. Portions are satisfying, prices are reasonable, and service is quick and polite. Clean, simple, no nonsense—exactly how a good dosa place should be. Highly recommended for anyone who values real taste over gimmicks.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this restaurant truly deserves one. If you enjoy South Indian food, you won’t be disappointed. The dishes are prepared exactly to your preference, and the service is great!

I only post about excellent experiences (or really terrible ones). The Dosa Shop or TDS Cafe is outstanding. It’s not fancy but very clean and charming. The food and service (Harish and his wife are the owners; I was served by a very helpful Tamanna who baked some scrumptious desserts). Don’t expect posh but expect authentic and delicious!
This Indian restaurant has a genuine speciality in South Indian cuisine. For those familiar with Delhi, Harish worked for SAGAR for 10 years + hails from Udippi, one of the famous culinary capitals in the south! MIKE DROP!!
I can’t believe we have this gem here in Edmonton, and the quality shows in his food which is prepared with love and care, and served with pride. They don’t skimp on high quality ingredients like saffron, cardamom, etc. and keep things at a very affordable price. They also have mainstream wraps, sandwiches, cookies, chai, espressos, beverages, etc. all made in house from scratch!
The hours are great 7 days a week 10-midnight with rare free parking in the heart of downtown. It’s a cute informal cafe that deserves to be checked out.
On off-peak hours you won’t have trouble finding a table or free parking. You may want to stick to deliveries or pickup in peak times as it is a small dine in space (5-6 tables).
I’m not a blogger/influencer clearly as I finished my chicken biryani before I thought to take a picture But a place like this deserves to be supported and cherished.
