If you’ve ever seen How I Met Your Mother, this is THE burger. I dream about this burger. I don’t live in North Carolina anymore, but I’m considering planning a trip for this burger. I haven’t eaten this burger in nearly a decade, and I have yet to find a burger that compares.

This was my first visit here so consider that please. I found the folks there not very friendly in a kind of hipster doufus way. Before you bash me, I’m from Portland Oregon and am familiar.
Gotta say, the fries were absolute fire! Fresh, crispy, hand cut goodness!
However, the Philliy I had was straight up inedible. The meat was greasy, tough, and had an odd flavor. There was hardly any peppers or onions on the Philly. One bite and in the bin.

Food was good. Simple menu: burgers, dogs, fries or chips. Fries were delicious.
A bit overpriced ($26 for 2 drinks, 2 single meat burgers and 1 basket of fries). Menu at counter is a bit confusing with prices, so make sure to ask what’s what when ordering.
Very small dining area inside and some booths outside. Parking is limited. Many folks were parked at the bank across the street.
Super friendly staff (3 that we encountered).
Would eat again if it’s in the budget.
Drink fountain has RC products, including Cheerwine, also sweet tea is available.

Great place for a burger! My wife had seen this place while on a visit with a client and wanted to give it a try. It doesn’t look like much, inside or out but they have really good burgers and the chips are home made. It is definitely one of the better burgers that I have had in a while. Probably the best burger in Black Mountain.

Hoping for a great burger and cheesesteak. Honestly, kind of let down. The burger was decent enough, but the cheesesteak lacked flavor, maybe I am spoiled having visited Philadelphia a thousand times. On top of that, the fries and chips were cold – I love both styles of fries and chips, such potential. I would think a small ma and pa, off the beaten path would have done better. Oh well, win some, lose some.

Hadn’t been to Black Mountain NC for some time. Had to pick something up there and asked where I could get a Philly. Macs came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. FABULOUS Philly! HOME CUT FRIES??!! I was in HEAVEN. RC on tap?? Could life get any better???!!! This will be our go to anytime we go to Asheville. It’s worth the additional 20 minute drive.
