The owners, staff, food and atmosphere of Portofinos are great. We have dined in, held a celebration in their upstairs private party room, had food delivered and even picked up to-go orders. It’s a low key, dimly lit restaurant with nice Italian themed music in the background. Even when very busy it is not so loud you can’t have nice conversations.

We went at 4 pm on a Monday afternoon and it was completely open seating. We had a very friendly waiter We got our order quick. Our meals were fresh and tasty. I got lobster ravioli, and my husband got spaghetti with meat sauce. Both dishes were excellent. We also had the fried mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and I believe those were the best I’ve ever had! The marina sauce was outstanding, every sauce was. I will definitely be eating here again.

We went there looking at the reviews. However, the food was not good at all. The bruschetta was 9 dollars for 6 small slices of bread. The pastas were very expensive, but the sauce didn’t taste fresh, there was so much oil, and no flavor. We had to pay 24 dollars for a shrimp vegetable stir fry looking dish because there were no dairy free options. We bought 3 entrees and 1 appetizer, and 1 dessert and the total was 86 dollars. Food was not worth the price and I could find better, made from scratch pasta in other places for cheaper. Do not believe the reviews and come here.

I had been to this restaurant before and the food was pretty good as well as the service so i decided to go by myself for a solo night out. When I had got there the server was kind and asked if I wanted a drink and appetizer. The service is going well, and I decided to order the chicken scampi off of the menu As I was looking for a dish with a lot of flavor. When the food comes, the chicken taste boiled and the sauce bland and the spinach was extremely salty. I asked the waiter if the chicken was boiled and he said it was baked and I asked if he could have the cook pan sear my chicken. When the food came back out the sauce tasted slimy and burnt at the same time. I didn’t want to send it back, but I knew that I wasn’t gonna be able to eat that and asked if they could possibly just remake my entire plate asking if they could make it more garlic forward. When I got the new plate, the sauce looked exactly the same but decided to try it anyway. As I was going to take my bite the cook came out and watched me take my bite and I felt extremely uncomfortable. The plate wasn’t good but I decided to just eat what I could anyway as I figured that it probably wasn’t gonna change. I decided to give one of their desserts a go, and I asked to have a piece of their lemon cello mascarpone The dessert was OK. Overall, the food was not good But the Server was professional and understanding.

Amazing service! Kind staff who greeted us right away! Everyone that worked there was friendly and kind to my daughter. We barely had to wait any time at all for our waitress to greet us. Paola was above and beyond! Got our drinks to us right away. And through out the entire time she checked in on us! We asked for coloring to keep my husband and I daughter busy. And she even handed us a coloring book! The food was amazing! And came out nice and hot! Will be recommending this place to my family and friends!!!

Staff greeted us very enthusiastically. He was excited that we hadn’t been here before. The portions are plenty! The garlic cheese bread is light & crunchy, but soft as well. I got the shrimp marsala and it was amazing. My daughter had the chicken albanese. She really enjoyed it, but had a hard time eating all of it. If you aren’t sure what you might like they are happy to help you choose what you might enjoy.

WOW!! This is a hidden Gem in Waco!! I can’t believe it only had a 4.3 rating! Upon walking in we were made to feel very welcome in the cozy, nicely decorated dining room. The young man that was our waiter was very professional and answered all questions. Service was very timely! Food was hot and absolutely delicious!! We will definitely go back. It Is a little higher priced than some Italian restaurants, but considering the quality, it’s worth it! I highly recommend this place!!
Husband had the pasta sampler. The pastas and marinara sauce was homemade!!! He said it was his favorite marinara! The “made fresh daily” bread was light inside and slightly crispy outside and tasted wonderful!!! I ordered the baked cheese ravioli with pink sauce(my favorite Italian dish). They told me the ravioli was not a homemade but the sauce was! The ravioli with pink sauce was my favorite ever!!

The food was delicious and we had a fantastic time. Loved the service and atmosphere. Highly recommended and we will be back. The fettuccine alfredo and chicken marsala were cooked to perfection. 10 out of 10.

Wonderful, authentic Italian food. Everything is made from scratch and to order. We were in Italy last year and this tasted like food from Rome. The garlic, cheese bread was scrumptious, as was the shrimp scampi and eggplant Parmesan. The sauces are freshly made and so flavorful. The pizzas also looked wonderful. We also had the limoncello cake which was light and the perfect ending to the meal. The service was friendly and excellent. Our GPS sent us the wrong way, but it’s on Austin Street on the right just before 8th street where we parked.
After a day of shopping, we skipped the food trucks and opted for a memorable meal in a well air conditioned restaurant. The perfect ending to a wonderful day.

Food – Hot steaming food served quickly (candidly felt it was a bit too quick to be prepared fresh). Bread was fresh and good – Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside!
Service – Good reliable service although when asked for recommendations the waiter offered the whole menu as recommendation! Go figure!! A little attitude if you ask me.
Price – we were slightly surprised with the higher prices after reviewing the menu via Google; Prices felt high also given that the portions are smaller (relatively speaking) and the waiter told us that they have one menu for dinner or lunch! (I expect the dinner portions to be usually larger)
Location/Atmosphere – Great location – in downtown Waco; Nice upmarket feel with tablecloth service
