The Fish Cove has been around for years but the food and service are just as good as it was on day one. Joe and his staff are helpful, efficient and even amusing at times, as you wait for your order. They love what they do and it shows! My usual fare is a piece of Haddock, fried mushrooms and Mac salad. The fish and mushrooms are lightly battered, fried to perfection and never greasy. The Mac salad is one of my faves with just a touch of sweetness that pairs well with the mayo and carrots. The menu has far more on it and they also do offer baked fish that is tender and flaky but without the added calories from being fried. If you love fish this is the place to go! Just be warned that Friday’s, especially during Lent, are super busy. Even so, the staff gets you and your order out quickly. Just a reminder that the restaurant accepts cash only but there is an ATM inside as well as several banks surrounding the area to get cash from.

Highly disappointed! Breading was heavy & tough, I couldn’t cut through it with a fork easily. The fish it’s self was not flaky, very dense and did not taste like haddock. I mentioned this to a neighbor who had also gone there and she noted the same problem. Unfortunately, we won’t be back, the search is on for a great piece of haddock!

A great traditional fish fry place especially for those that keep up the tradition of Fish Fry Friday. Always great fresh haddock from the fryer . They also will deep fry clam strips, scallops, calamari, shrimp, smelt, mushrooms, and zucchini. They also have on hand a nice baked haddock for those who are avoiding fried foods. There’s also french fries and onion rings done up fresh. And their baked beans have a taste unique to this proprietor. Even on their crowded Fridays, they keep the line moving and you’ll be out of there in less time than most fast food places.

Very confusing for a first time customer. No real direction or help as to how they expect you to to move through the strange lay out. Whole pieces of fish at one counter but sandwiches at another counter(?). I felt like I was an inconvenience to them since I didn’t know how things work there. Also, overpriced. Ended up paying $43 for two pieces of fish, one order of fries, 4 small ramekins of tartar sauce, and a mac salad. Food not hot or great, mac salad tasted like coleslaw, the fish they gave me was sitting out on a tray, not cooked fresh to order. They seem popular so I guess that they have their following, but I won’t be in any hurry to go back.

Super unorganized. There’s no system at all. There were people walking in after me claiming that the food was theirs when it was called, so I had to continue waiting, and by the time I got home, my food was cold. New owner seems rude.

Delicious, fried fish fantastic macaroni salad, cold slaw, baked beans among other seafood, veggie etc. Take outs, Very clean. The price is reasonable. I normally don’t eat out but their food is just right.
