Casa Verde Ristorante is a local, family-run Italian restaurant that never disappoints. The small dining room creates an intimate atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. Each time we go, the food is consistently excellent, with traditional Italian dishes prepared with care and paired beautifully with a great wine selection. The service is warm and welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. It truly feels like fine dining right here in Ajax, and every visit has left us impressed.

My husband and I went to Casa Verde for dinner on a Saturday at 5pm. It was mostly empty which was really nice. There was old Italian music softly playing in the background. The decor and aesthetic was very cozy. It felt like you walked into a little slice of Italy in this restaurant. The food was delicious. We had the Gnocchi Alla Piemontese and the Manicotti Fiorentina Di Sidney. It was very flavourful and hot when it came out. The wine pairing with the food was perfect as well. Would definitely return to this restaurant for another date night.
The prices for the pastas were reasonable, ranging from $27-$31. The mains were on average about $38.

The food and service was amazing. It is a cozy and authentic Italian atmosphere. All of the food was incredible aside from the calamari. We had the caprese salad as well which was delicious, the veal mushroom and the veal parmigiana – portions were generous and we finished with the creme brûlée which was one of the best we’ve had! Perfect Italian spot, we will definitely be back!

My party of 4 girlfriends ate here recently on a Friday night. It is a nice little restaurant. Three of us had the fish meal and I had the veal piccata. The portions were all generous and delicious. The after dinner lattes were tasty and arrived piping hot which is great. The noise level around our group of 4 though was bad and we could barely hear each other speak which was disappointing. Also we were not told when we booked the reservation that we could only dine for 2 hours. We arrived at 6:30 and were told it was a two hour maximum. By 8:30 pm it was empty in the restaurant but when asked we were told they closed at 9:00 pm so basically we had to leave. If we had known they were closing at 9pm and we were going to get kicked out I think we would’ve gone somewhere else because we like to chat and we usually stay a while. I am surprised on a Friday night that this establishment would close so early. Also I felt the servers were a little off-putting, not the friendly wait staff we are used to at a restaurant.

In the heart of old historic Pickering Village, Casa Verde truly feels like stepping into a family home. The moment you walk in, it feels as if the dining table is already set and you’re simply taking your seat to enjoy a meal with the rest of the family.
We live in Ajax, and this beautiful restaurant is so easy to spot from Highway 2. We’ve been meaning to stop by for a couple of years now and finally decided to call in for dinner this evening. Only then did we realize how much we’ve been missing by not visiting sooner.
We ordered the Linguine alla Pescatora, Spaghetti Carbonara di Sabrina, Calamari Fritti, Carpaccio, and Tiramisu. Every dish tasted like a signature item on the menu and there wasn’t a single detail we could suggest for improvement.
I actually meant to take photos of everything, but once the plates arrived and I took the first bite, combined with the warm atmosphere, it completely slipped my mind.
The water, the wine, the beer, the pasta, the dessert, the service, and the overall environment were all perfectly balanced with just the right touch.
A wonderful experience and highly recommended.
Thank you, Casa Verde, for hosting us so warmly.

The service was good and the atmosphere was good. Unfortunately, the food was not good. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine this is not the place. I ordered the lasagna and it tasted like it was warmed up in the microwave. It was very mushy and the flavour of the sauce and other ingredients was extremely bland. Moreover, there was a hair in the calamari we ordered for the table. Not just on the calamari, but it was fried with the hair. For what we paid per meal I would have much rather spent this at a better restaurant.

Finally visited and loved the food. It’s a cute and small restaurant. The calamari was tender and crispy. Carbonara was rich and delicious. We also got one of the specials which was roasted red pepper ravioli in tomato and cream sauce which was also excellent. Finished it off with in house made crema caramel. Will definitely be back!
