This is a typical family-owned restaurant, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. However, the place could use more attention, particularly in ensuring that all menu items are consistently available. It would also benefit from adding a warmer touch and stronger hospitality.
That being said, the food itself was tasty, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. Overall, it’s worth giving them a second chance.

Wanted a quick lunch. We ordered chicken kebabs which came with rice and some salad. Also had a potato roti-type, tasty and filling. The eggplant was tasty as well. I liked this samosa, besides potatoes, there were other veggies, nice and crisp. Generous serving size, efficient service.

Excellent, healthy food and good value. It’s a friendly little spot, a locally owned business you’ll be happy to support. And it’s a terrific, filling meal on a cool night. Go. Eat. Enjoy.

If you’re craving authentic Afghan cuisine, this place is a total hidden gem! We stumbled upon it by chance, and we are so glad we did. The Qabuli Pulav was absolutely divine – perfectly cooked basmati rice layered with tender meat, sweet carrots, and plump raisins. Every bite was packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. But the real star? The Mantoo. These delicate dumplings, filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with a rich, savory tomato sauce and cooling yogurt, were hands down some of the best we have had. You can tell everything is made with love and tradition. Service was top-notch, welcoming, and super attentive. This place might not be flashy from the outside, but inside it’s a cozy, authentic experience that makes you feel like family. Whether you’re an Afghan food connoisseur or trying it for the first time, this spot is a must-visit in Elk Grove.

My wife and I were very pleased to have dinner to go from Best Kabob! We were given a bowl of delicious soup (free of charge) while we waited for our order. I had the Gyro and my wife had the beef/lamb over rice. Both were absolutely fantastic. One of the best Gyro’s I have ever had, will definitely be dining here again soon

Went there last Saturday drove all the way from Stockton. The food was okay we spent around $160 but when we ask for a Togo box for our left over food. The owner says they are out and only gave us 3 boxes. Not a good customer service at all. On top of that the food came so late. May Allah guide us all. Aameen.

We got the whole chicken that was deep.fried. the chicken was so chewy that my jaws are still hurting.
The gyro wrap was good.
The mixed neat plate was ok. No sauce was provided with it. Meat was tender and flavor full.

Wow, what a wonderful little restaurant. It smells like spices the moment you step in. My husband had the beef & lamb gyro, I had a chicken shwarma, and our toddler had the popcorn chicken with fries. My husband can be quite the food critic, and he said his gyro is one of the best he’s had. I have to say the same for my shwarma— perfectly tender and the spices/seasoning was just *chef’s kiss*. Service was pretty quick, waited about 10 min. for our food, though the restaurant was not packed at the time (about 7:30 pm). We’ll def be back.

I had the pleasure to stop by here in my short visit to the town and I had a great Quabli. The prices are competitive with others in the area and the food is very good.
I wasn’t very happy to see them selling CocaCola products and I hope they will support the boycott for Palestine .
