I can’t say enough amazing things about this place! So glad our hotel was next to Bar Luca! The drinks, vibe and service were incredible. We went for happy hour, I ordered the bolognese grilled cheese, it was fabulous. I’m already craving another one. So unique and tasty! We sat at the bar and were greeted right away. We loved this place so much we went again the next day! The Sicilian wedding was probably one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Bruschetta and calamari were also very good. My man loved his pasta dish and drinks as well. Thank you for a great time!!

Average meal, nothing great or even really good. Had to wait 10 minutes before going to the bar to ask for the hostess to seat us. We had reservations but the hostess didn’t care and refused to seat us at first despite so many tables available. She offered tables outside in the cold (yes it was chilly in Miami) even though we had an indoor reservation. We had to prove we had a reservation as they wouldn’t just take our name. So much unwarranted attitude from the blonde hostess. After being seated we had to wait another 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order, and they didn’t get it right. The meatball salad was fine, the bread was ok, and they ran out of pizza by 7:30pm. My friend only took 2 bites of her gnocchi but said it was fine. I forcibly took maybe 4 small bites of the pappardelle Bolognese and could not eat it. Too much tomato sauce overpowered the meat, which is odd to have tomatoes for a bolognese. My husband’s chicken was fine. Funny that it was served in a cast iron skillet which was cold. Our server was really nice and should definitely consider a management position as the restaurant needs to up its game. The less angry hostess, or perhaps she is a manager, did shots with the table next to us and at the end of the night gave us each a free drink voucher for our next visit, which was nice of her, however I have absolutely no desire to return. Not sure what the hype is all about.

As a fan of chef santo since Lucali, he brings his talents to bar Luca. Low key, romantic, and authentic- the best Italian spot in Miami Beach. Inside a hotel the ambience is surprisingly warm and inviting for both locals and tourists. Plenty of outdoor seating as well.

Apps that can’t be missed: burrata, grilled octopus, fried calamari, and bread service which shocked us all by good it was.

The pasta is an absolute must. The greatest bolognese with short rib and the spicy rigatoni is literally chefs kiss.

Dimly lit with great people watching, bar Luca is an absolute must. My loyalty to chef santo continues he is truly a culinary gem

This place was extremely loud, to the point where it was hard to enjoy the meal or even have a conversation. The service was honestly terrible we waited almost an hour for our food, and the staff attitude was really poor the entire time.

The food itself was very underwhelming. The steak was so bad that we couldn’t even finish it. Definitely not worth the wait or the price.

Overall, a really disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.

A much better choice than the overpriced South Beach restaurants—reasonably priced, high-quality food with a perfect atmosphere. The pasta has a refined, exquisite style and the flavors are outstanding. I went on a Sunday at noon and it wasn’t crowded at all. A wonderful spot to relax and enjoy excellent pasta and drinks.

Came for dinner and ordered a bottle of wine. $65 marked on the menu. Bill came and it said $165. Waiter said that was the real price. We said that it was $65 on the menu and we would have never ordered it had it said $165. I opened a menu at the host stand and it said $65, he added a 1 to another menu and handed it back to me and said this was the real price. Classic bait and switch. Manager came by and said there was nothing they could do. Great food, but I’d never come back after that experience.

Wow! We had some lovely nights at Bar Luca! Situated in our hotel, we were directly appealed by the interior. It is so cosy, pretty and has a unique vintage look. The terrace is charming too! Tony is so kind and makes the best cocktails. All the products are from a great quality and taste like Italy. Angela took really good care of us and the restaurant. We recommend this sophisticated gem in the heart of Miami Beach! Can’t wait to come back, Thanks Angela & Tony! You made our stay magical

The ambiance of Bar Luca is great. Kind of Miami Rat Pack vibe. It’s a smaller place, and being sat in the corner booth/bench was nice and intimate. The food was also so much better than almost anything else we ate in Miami on our trip – I ordered the cod puttanesca and was so satisfied with my meal. Not too rich, and so delicious. The cod was cooked perfectly. We also had the calamari for an appetizer, and my only complaint there is it wasn’t quite enough to share among four adults and a toddler. I only got one piece and the next time I looked up the plate was empty except for the pea shoot garnish! Tragic.

We also had gnocchi, salmon, and the shrimp linguini, all of which were highly enjoyed. Didn’t try any dessert, since we were all pretty full from dinner, but the menu looked like pretty standard fare: chocolate cake, pistachio tart, gelato, etc.

Leaving the real critique for last – we were fully ghosted by our waiter, Chad. He had a real Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde thing happening. Started out warm and cordial, then abruptly started acting terse and strange when we ordered our entrees. He didn’t come back for the rest of the time we were there (and we didn’t see him in the dining room at all, which meant he was also not checking in on any of his other tables), except to tell us the 20% service charge is automatically added to the bill. It was confounding.

I’d say I fully recommend this spot, it’s off the main tourist path so you’ll have a nicer time. And if you find that Chad’s your server, maybe request a switch? Or play your odds!
