Riviera Pizza

Me and the Misses stopped by for dinner. We wanted to try a pizza from a local “mom & pop” shop. Upon entering you are struck by a delicious aroma of real homemade dishes. The staff was very personable, knowledgeable and very friendly. We ended up getting the “special” pizza. (Pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers and mushrooms) And lawd have mercy, when the pizza was brought out to the table, we were “star-struck” on the amazing cheese pull and the amount of toppings. The sauce was very robust and the dough was perfectly cooked. This is definitely top 3 pizzas shops in NJ. It was so good, my wife ate the crust, in all my years knowing her she’s never eaten the crust! We’ll definitely be back!

I do love this place and their pizza one of the best I’ve had in NJ. However, today was the first time I ordered the garlic knots and they weren’t so great. Really dry and not so much garlic. I will still order their pizza but I dont know about the knots.

I’ve wanted to eat here for quite a long time now, and we finally did. Very friendly staff here! We both ordered chicken cutlet parm sandwiches and split an order of cheese fries. He had a grape Fanta, which neither of us has tasted in years! Everything was good, and I had leftovers. The price was right, as well, and was a relief from the price of our dinners out lately.

The pizza is always soggy. We always have to remember to ask for “well done” which seems unusual to need to do.. Last time we asked for “well done” and it was still under cooked, soggy and disappointing. You cannot pick up a slice but need to eat with a fork because it’s that soggy…

Ordered last night for pick up. One of the worst pizzas I have ever had! Completely tasteless from the sauce &cheese which was very little of each. The sausage was like breakfast mush & not what I remembered a year or so ago
Tasteless too! Bottom crust was like a shoe sole. Oven definitely needs to be cleaned. Needless to say will not be ordering from them anymore .

We all know dining out usually stinks during the pandemic when restaurants are careful. Riviera was an exception. The take your order behind plexiglas, masked up and hermetically sealed, but the are so nice and accommodating. The pizza has always been perfect and now that we live down south, we have to have Jersey pizza once per trip. The buffalo chicken pie makes my mouth water to even right about it. Why can’t they make crust like that a few states closer to the equator? Everyone tells me it’s the water. Give me a thumbs up if you find this honest review helpful. Thanks.

Ordered buffalo chicken tails. Expected real pieces of chicken and instead got processed leftover that can be found in your local grocery store in the frozen aisle or at Mcdonalds chicken nuggets. Was pretty disappointed. Could’ve had the same quality for half the price and just heated it up in my oven.
