I give 3 Hermanas a solid C.
Drinks come with only one refill — not ideal, but as a diabetic that’s probably better for me anyway. Their salsa is the high point: thick, flavorful, none of that watery tomato soup some places pass off.
I was seated quickly and knew I wanted a burrito. I asked for habanero, was offered Serrano, and then when the plate arrived I got a bowl of uncooked jalapeños instead. Not exactly the same thing. After serving me, my original waitress didn’t speak to me again. I’m not a needy customer, but when my water is empty and the soda half-full, a quick “need anything?” would be expected. A second staff member eventually stepped in and took care of me, and she’s the reason the tip didn’t drop below 10%.
The burrito itself just wasn’t worth the price. It’s not a $15 burrito. I’d hesitate to call it an $8 burrito. And I specifically asked for peppers cooked into it, not raw ones tossed on the side as an afterthought.
Overall: 3/5 stars. I won’t be back.

It’s Friday (2/24) dinner and it’s just my wife and my daughter. Getting here is just an easy ride down J street. Parking was easy along the neighborhood area. The restaurant is fairly small compared to the other Tres Hermanas location. We were able to get a table quickly (was around 6pm) without having to wait. Our server was great. She was polite and very hospitable. She took our order which included a combination plate (Verde Burrito with side of Enchilada) and Dinner Plate (Verde plate). The food came out fresh from the kitchen within 10-15 minutes from ordering. It was very delicious. Not overly seasoned and packed with flavors. The pork pieces were very tender. The side of rice with the beans turned out very good too. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. We did order drinks (2 margaritas) but unfortunately both were very disappointing. My wife got a Patron Margarita and I got their House 3 Hermanas Margarita. Neither of us can taste the tequila in the drink. The sweet and sour they used overwhelmed the cocktail – Not fresh at all. At about $14-$15 a drink, it was a complete dud and fell very short of expectations. We are used to quality cocktails from other well established Mexican Eateries in the Sacramento area. Our bill came to about $90 with tax and tips for two meals (wife and daughter shared a plate), two cocktails, and a soda. That’s rather high for the mixed experience.

Here are the ratings: Restaurant (5/5), Service (5/5), Food (5/5), Drinks (1/5), Value to Price Ratio (2.5/5), and Overall Experience (3.5/5). We would probably order from here again but would do it “To Go” instead just for the food. We would stay away from their cocktails or just get something from tap (e.g. Beer) instead. 3 Hermanas… Good Food, Good Service, but Bad Drinks.

Absolutely loved the spot, and it will definitely become one of my go to places. Normally I would go for tacos or mole when I get Mexican, but this time I decided to go for a Chimichanga because I was starving. This did not disappoint- it was HUGE and so delicious. Their house salsa is also so tasty – I think our large group went through like 8 bowls of chips. Highly recommend this spot!

I found this place by typing in “best mexican restaurants near me” and it brought me here. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, rice and refried beans. I ordered a small guacamole as well. Food was good and my server was EXCELLENT. I’d go back for sure!

We originally were going to eat @ Tres Hermanas but they are closed on Mondays. So, we decided to try
3 Hermanas .

It is smaller than “Tres” but very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Parking is available behind the restaurant.
Chips and salsa were excellent. (Only one free refill offered. Same with sodas and tea. After second refill you get charged again. )
We ordered three taco combo plates, served with rice and beans. Food took longer than expected to reach our table. Two of our entrees were prepared wrong.
(All beans no rice, served with rice and beans. Beef taco, served with chicken and no cheese.)
Food was served hot and tasty.
Service was excellent, except for the aforementioned above.
The food was good, though.

The food was flavorful, the chips were crispy, and the salsa had the right amount of heat. We ate our meal in the outside dining area that was available. After our food arrived, I felt like we were forgotten about. Out of sight, out of mind, maybe? The menu prices were a tad on the high side for me for mexican food.

Portion sizes were large and the entrees were tasty. I ordered the quesadilla with carne asada which came with rice and your choice of beans. The chips were a little underfried but everything else was good.

Beautiful atmosphere, kind servers, standard run of the mill to get your Mexican food fix. Standard/Large food portion sizes.

You can taste the Smokey chilies in the salsa, the chips were fresh and not oily.

The spice level would be a 3/10 for me, way too spicy for non-spicy eaters, great for people who like a little kick. I’m sure they have hotter options.

We got the Pastor Quesadilla and the Chicken Mole. The Quesadilla is yummy, salty, and cheesy. And the Chicken Mole had large juicy chunks of chicken.

They have designated parking spots.

Stopped here after attending Pride and found a lovely little place with a nice little patio. The service was attentive and helpful. I ordered the carnitas quesadilla plate. The carnitas were juicy! I also loved the salsa that comes with the chips.
