Darling little eatery with honest, well-made, tasty food. Pefect Jersey Shore breakfast! We visit every time in town. The DeeSpecial Eggs Benedict is top-notch. Even the S.O.S. was properly prepared. Just go & tell them Penny sent you.

We went here for a late breakfast and so happy we did! Everyone was happy with their food: lox benedict eggs, chicken caesar wrap, and Micky Mouse pancakes- all were delish! The place has large indoor sitting area and some outdoor tables. We liked little ocean-themed details in the restaurant. For coffee lovers- they have an espresso machine! No cappuccinos but you can construct your own by mixing espresso shots and warm milk .

Food was pretty basic with nothing too special on the menu, some folks in my party didn’t feel great afterwards but it could have been the heat. Kitchen was slow coming out with the food granted we had a large party. Probably not going here again, the place itself is quite nostalgic feeling and they even had an Elmo character giving out balloons to kids in front which was nice.

We made an excellent choice heading right down the road to Ortley Beach for Mother’s Day breakfast at Sunny Hunny by the Sea Family Pancake House and Restaurant. (I couldn’t resist the name)
Sunny Hunny originally opened in the 1960s and is a women lead business in New Jersey. The restaurant has been in the family of the owner for 35 years – and they have plenty of stories to share from over the years…one in particular being their story of enduring the effects from Hurricane Sandy. In the words of the family:
“This one story structure, located one block from the beach on 6th ave in Ortley (Right down the street from the former location of the surf club) was able to withstand the power of Sandy with only minimal water damage, in relation to the surrounding area. It was a miracle that my Wife’s family was able to continue operating and survived the years following, even with the hit that tourism took.”
Now, owners Donjae and Christopher and their family carry on the family legacy at Sunny Hunny and look forward to serving Ocean County for many decades to come.

We ordered the Crab Egg Benedict. Egg was overcooked and very little crab. Potatoes were okay. Service was slow and didn’t check on us or offered refills. Placed an order to go for SOS and the picture tells you what we got. Very little SOS and all bread and potatoes. Unfortunately we had already gotten home and wasn’t going back.

Came here with a group of 6 for a late breakfast and they were able to accommodate with no issues within 10 minutes. Food was outstanding, service was great, manager came by every table just to check in and make sure his customers were happy. Great place!

The Elmo outside is SO creepy. Is it associated with the restaurant, or do you just feel bad telling him to leave? Somehow got past that and was disappointed with mid (at best) pancakes and OJ in a disposable plastic cup. Can make much better at home (and my OJ will be in a glass!)

Got the Eggs Benedict on potato pancakes! Excellent! Great service, great food. Loud and crowded, but in a good way. Staff was very pleasant and fast.

No better place down the shore to get your breakfast! Super quick and kind service with incredible food from the omelettes, to the Oscar Benedict, pancakes, and everything in between. Inside/outside seating and their own huge parking lot which is a big plus on busy summer weekends.
