I stopped at Basil’s on S.R. 64 East. They have THE BEST Chicken ever. I ordered the half chicken dinner (all cut into individual pieces), two sides (I ordered broccoli and mashed potatoes and gravy), and it came with a delecious piece of warm pita bread and a side of fresh honey butter to spread on it. Trust me, stop by, try eating at the clean, spacious dine-in tables available and chairs area or take out at the convenient drive thru on the side of the building! The chef and counter lady were very pleasant and helpful. I can’t wait to try their baby back ribs the next time!

Great place for lunch or dinner. They offer both lunch and dinner specials, but everything is reasonably priced. We enjoy their chicken, and their salads are generously portioned. We also enjoy their lamb pitas, which usually comes with a side. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Overall, we enjoy coming to Basil’s for a quick meal and have yet to be disappointed!

Evan is, hands down, the best worker I’ve ever encountered at Basil’s—or anywhere, honestly. This kid doesn’t just ring up orders or clear tables; he turns the most overlooked jobs in the building into an act of absolute excellence.
From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with this sharp, focused professionalism that you’d expect from someone twice his age. He wasn’t a server, but the way he handled that register made it feel like the most important post in the whole restaurant. No attitude, no laziness—just pure effort. You could tell he took pride in every single part of his job, even the parts most people ignore.
And when he buss’d the dining area? I’ve never seen someone wipe down a table with that much purpose. He was moving fast, almost surgical with it—keeping everything clean, resetting the space, making sure the entire place ran smoother just because he cared enough to do it right.
Yeah, he’s a little smelly—teenage hustle will do that to you—but honestly? It just made the whole thing feel even more real. Like you’re watching a young grinder putting in honest work, sweat and all, refusing to slack for even a second.
If Basil’s has any sense, they’ll hold onto him—give him a raise, promote him, frame his picture on the wall, something. Evan is the kind of employee that elevates an entire restaurant just by showing up and giving everything he has.
If you go to Basil’s, ask who’s on register or who’s cleaning tables. If it’s Evan, you’re in good hands. He’s the reason I’ll be returning

The ribs were fall off the bone and exploding with flavor, chicken was perfectly grilled, even the sides were delicious! The staff is super friendly. A great place to enjoy good food and a good time. Definitely recommended!!!

Stopped with Mrs. Today, for a quick dinner.
I had the pot pie special, and the Mrs had a gyro.
The pot pie was really loaded with chicken and veggies, just as I had hoped it would be. Served very hot! I thought that it could have had a little more flavor. The crust was kinda dry, not flakey at all. It was something I would consider ordering again.
The Mrs gyro was rated as simply good. The pasta salad was also ok.
The restaurant was very clean.
We need to come back and try the ribs and flame broiled chicken.

I have been eating at this location for at least 4 years now. Philip, the owner, has been there every time I’ve been in. He greets everyone personally and is the kind of operator that remembers his patrons names. The restaurant is always clean including the tables and bathrooms. I always get the same thing! Two piece, all white chicken with salad and mashed potatoes. It comes with a warm pita bread with honey butter. My husband gets the chicken and rib dinner which is his favorite. We got a lot of take out during COVID because this is a local family restaurant that we wanted to support and make sure that we could dine there for a long time.

This is the nest chicken dinner I have had in a loooong time….. Definitely now in my rotation of great dining in Bradenton !!!!

We ordered delivery from here and unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The mac and cheese had a thick, paste-like texture and very little flavor. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a mix rather than being freshly made. The grilled chicken also missed the mark — not crispy, not smoky, and lacking seasoning or barbecue flavor. We ended up not finishing our meals, which was disappointing given the positive reviews we’d read. Overall, bland and underwhelming.
