Top notch food and service! The sushi and food here is spectacular, and I would 100% recommend the sushi on a boat if you are celebrating with your friends on a holiday of some sort!
The service was also spectacular! The kitchen staff and waitresses were all super kind, and it was such a treat to get to chat with the owners and learn how they came about here to own a sushi restaurant. 10/10 would recommend!

I cannot believe I just ordered $100 worth of food and did not like any of it…… we got salmon hibachi, 3 types of sushi & extra yum yum which i immediately could tell was not a standard yum yum. It was some peppery mayo. This food is below average (salmon under cooked & swimming in some type of liquid which wasn’t appetizing). The sushi we got did not match the online description at all & both roles look the same with different sauce. I’m truly shocked at all of these good reviews. The reviews are what made me take the chance and I deeply regret it. $100 in this economy for what we received… I would really like my money back. When I called to tell them, the lady who answered said there wasn’t a manager for me to speak with then when I told her the issues, she told me to bring the food back & that she was going to get her manager & for me to hold on. I hung up because I’m not driving 30 minutes back to the restaurant. No customer service. Go to Saltwater 10 mins away & save yourself the headache & money!

We were in a town we didn’t know and I just looked up restaurants and then we weren’t sure. We actually tried to go to California Tortilla but realized it was a chain and didn’t look very fun to sit in. This was next door and it looked great we were not disappointed. The place looked great it had lots of great beautiful elegant decorations. The napkins and the Chopsticks were of such a high nice quality it felt like fine dining. The Thai tea, the dumplings, seaweed salad and vegetable tempura were wonderful light meal at such a late hour. Everyone was amazing attentive they got our dishes off immediately it was just terrific. I also loved the color and feeling of the bathrooms period warm soothing and clean. We had a great experience here!

This is a great little place for sushi! It’s fresh, reasonably priced, and the staff is very courteous and helpful. The sushi chef was very talented and everything was perfect. The atmosphere is also welcoming in a Mt. Airy way. I will be back!

Great sushi restaurant with a large and varied menu of all sort of sashimi, nigiri, sushi, etc. Also has good appetizers (the shumai and tuna collar are our favs). Lastly, great service and super fast food to table times, you rarely wait more than a few minutes for anything.

We have been to both the Mt Airy and Eldersburg locations many times already & here is my overall experience of the restaurant:
Service- fantastic
Atmosphere- clean , but the Mt Airy location lighting can be too dim at times.
Food- sashimi is very fresh; sushi is tasty; but…. Some of the appetizers sauce can be a bit funky especially like to point out, the baked eggplant and some of the dishes with Sriracha they don’t taste too good. Highly suggest to refine it.
Overall, it’s recommended by @winedinenvacay .

I love sushi & have it everywhere I go & this was the most impressive experience! The decor was top notch and the menus large & interesting with things I have never seen before. The service was great & the prices reasonable. Would recommend to anyone 🙂

Man, I do not understand where the 4.5 star rating for this restaurant comes from. I’ve been to my fair share of Japanese restaurants all around the country, and Katana was the most bewildering experience I’ve ever had at one.
My wife and I ordered a variety of items: beef negimaki, katsudon, a spicy scallop hand roll and futomaki. All of it had an appearance, texture and taste unlike any other Japanese food I’ve tried, as if the chef here had once seen blurry photographs of the dishes and years later tried to recreate them from memory.
I won’t go into exhaustive detail about everything, but here’s one highlight: my wife’s katsudon was served spread out on a big plate (“don” literally means “bowl,” folks) and came with what tasted like *honey mustard* for the chicken. While hilariously out of place, this sauce came in handy; while the breaded chicken was actually quite good, the rest of the dish was nearly inedible.
On the positive side, my hot tea was very nice, and I have no complaints about the service or environs. I was excited to try this place but we won’t be back. There are too many other good Japanese spots in the region to settle for bizarro-world katsudon!
