I had the smash burger and it was perfectly made. The curly fries were awesome and the house lager was great too. I also tried the buffalo wings and they were the best I’ve had in a long time.
The only recommendation I have is to maybe add table service in addition to the on-demand QR code ordering since some customers may find that difficult to understand how to use. Other than that, it is a great place and I will definitely be a return customer. Happy to have them nearby!
Update – I watched the Seahawks win the Superbowl at Hal’s and all I can say is 10/10 service and vibe. They lowered the price of my favorite Kombucha so I enjoyed 4 of them while watching the game. The lemon pepper wings I got were truly the best I’ve ever had. It’s very apparent the staff at Hal’s genuinely care about their customers and take feedback seriously and have made changes including in person menus and have definitely upped the overall customer experience. It was great the first time I visited and even better the second time. I can now officially call Hals my new go to spot in Woodinville. Well done Hals!
I totally get that it was busy, but being slammed should slow food down, not speed cold wings out of the kitchen. That feels like a rookie mistake, especially on the item they’re promoting. Service also struggled to keep up, and we had to work to get our server’s attention. There’s a fun vibe and good food here, but until they treat wing night less like a sprint and more like safe cooking, it’s a 2-star experience for us.
I will give it another go and order something else to see if it was simply a bad day, we all have them. Based on first impressions, I give this 2.25
Buddy told me it has a very cool Sports Diner/Bar kind of vibe. I can’t wait for when the weather is warm and we get to try out the patio.
Food and drink were great. Beer selection is great and the vibes are very solid.
Cheers
Hal’s pours out a nice selection of local beers and wines, in addition to a very tempting house cocktail and shot menu.
I found the ordering process to be user friendly and easy to navigate. I enjoyed setting my own plan and pace for the visit.
There was ample seating options and many giant TV’s showing all types of sports.
Everything was so great, we decided to book a booth at Hal’s for watching the super-bowl!
Once we finally spoke with the hostess/waiter, we were told it would be a few more minutes while a table opened up, which was completely understandable. When we were seated, we were informed about the scannable menu and told a server would be checking on us periodically. The QR menu itself was fine, but the prices were extremely high for what’s supposed to be a sports bar.
We ordered the Esquites Dip, which was very underwhelming. It was overly runny, and the tortilla chips served with it were extremely stale. Our food and drinks did come out in a reasonable amount of time, which I appreciated. However, once the food arrived, no one checked on us at all. We weren’t given plates, napkins, or utensils, and I had to flag someone down midway through our meal to get them. Even then, it was surprisingly difficult to find any staff.
Overall, the service did not match the prices or expectations. I don’t plan on returning unless there are significant improvements, particularly with pricing and service.
New wood panels reduce noise, making this sports bar quieter than the previous Mexican.
