Delivery: Ordered the Tapa entree, and it was delicious but I was shocked by the portion size for $17. The food was delicious as hell, but I feel like there should’ve been more weight to the dish, especially because my Filipino friends are always very generous with their portions. I know times are tough but maybe something to consider. I’ll try eating here in person another day and see if the portions are the same. Four stars because of the portion size

I love dining at the restaurant (for a lumpia snack, lunches, and early dinners). I thought so much of Fairfax Inn that I chose to cater them for my wedding. We picked up the food and brought it to our wedding about an hour away from the restaurant. The food was incredible as always. We got lumpia, chicken adobo, pork adobo, white and garlic rice, and pancit, enough for 50 people. Fairfax Inn was accommodating and were very helpful in our planning what to get and how to get it to the venue. Recommend trying Fairfax Inn! I hope you love it as much as I do. Can’t wait for our next visit!

This diner has been here for a while. The atmosphere is like a dinner. The food is awesome along with the service. Reminds me of my mother-in-law’s cooking.

The Fairfax Inn is a hidden gem tucked away behind a building facing the parking lot in Falls Church, Virginia. You might not spot it from the main street, but it’s definitely worth seeking out.

This small, cozy spot exudes an old-school diner vibe with a unique twist—it’s the first Filipino diner I’ve come across, and I find it incredibly cool. They serve staple Filipino breakfasts alongside traditional American breakfast options. On my visit, I enjoyed the corned beef, egg, and rice, while my family savored the Tocino and Longganisa with egg and rice. As a diner regular, I always go for black coffee, and theirs is consistently hot and fresh—simple, but excellent.

The menu also features Filipino desserts like Halo-Halo and Bibingka, though I was too full to try them this time. The ladies working here are incredibly helpful and kind, making me feel like I’m back in the Philippines.

One thing to note is that they can get quite busy. If you’re in a rush or lack patience, this might not be the place for you. The staff works hard to serve fresh food as quickly as possible, but the popularity means there might be a wait.

Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back. The diner atmosphere and the blend of Filipino and American breakfast offerings make it a unique and enjoyable experience.

I like how low key Fairfax Inn Restaurant is and it felt homey, like eating at an Aunty’s house. I can cook pretty much anything on their Filipino menu, but sometimes I don’t feel like cooking and they could probably do it better…haha.

I went here for the first time over the weekend because I was craving tocino. So I ordered the tosilog (tocino, garlic fried rice, eggs which you can choose the way you want them cooked, I got sunny side up eggs). It was pretty good! I’m guessing the tocino is homemade. I wish it came with a side of tomato and onion but all good, I still enjoyed my meal.

I was tempted to also order dinuguaan, but I knew I would be too full. My husband ordered the bistek and he said it was better than his parents’ bistek. I actually ate his leftover sabao/sauce with white rice..so yummy. They have other popular Filipino dishes on their menu like chicken adobo, sinigang, pancit mami (soup), fried and fresh lumpia, turon (banana egg roll). I ordered halo halo for my dessert. It was pretty good and I’m glad they don’t serve it in a humongous styrofoam cup. It was a perfect size. Halo halo is basically the Filipino version of bing soo but tastes way better because it has additional toppings like red bean, coconut gel, macapuno, ube ice cream, and leche flan. I wish they used the Hawaiian shave ice so the ice is softer as there were bits of ice…it was fine though because I still enjoyed my halo halo regardless. I noticed they had bibingka for sale and wish I bought one!

It looks like there’s American food as I noticed on the board they had things like fish sandwiches and I think steak.

Service was quick and they checked up on us. I will definitely will be back when I want my Filipino food fix and don’t feel like cooking. If you’re looking for Filipino fusion like sisig burritos and ube pancakes, you need to go to DC for that. But if you are craving traditional Filipino dishes, you won’t be disappointed!

A hole in the wall (or hidden gem, if you will) that is very homely and gives you a great diners’ feel with the bar seats and 4 people tables. The ladies behind the bar dabbled in everything: seating us, chatting with us, taking our orders, cooking, making drinks, cleaning, serving dessert, and even manned the checkout. The Lumpia was made fresh (took a while to come out) so the skin was crispy, yet light and not soaked in oil. The Lechon (crispy pork belly) was exceptionally crunchy and the sauce added some tanginess that had me coming back for more; paired with the garlic rice, it was a great and filling meal. We also had the pork adobo, which was tangy and savory (makes my mouth water just thinking about it, while writing this review), again paired with garlic rice, the exceptional flavors were elevated. I highly recommend pairing their dishes that come with white rice, to opt for garlic rice. Lastly, we finished off the meal with a halo-halo, which is shaved rice with sweetened condense milk, ube ice cream, and assorted sweet jelly.

Since this is a really small establishment, I highly recommend only visiting with max of 4 people, to not take up too much space and to also ensure that you get hot and fresh food as they can serve it quickly.

I’ve dined here a couple of times, and each time, the food portions were generous and comforting; their lumpia is the biggest I’ve seen. This place is decorated with many objects reminiscent of the Philippines, and they provide friendly service. Last time, I bought some desserts to take home, and everyone loved Ube Cheese Pandesal out of everything I got.

Stopped here twice, first is for brunch. Friendly staff and good food. Second was to buy takeaways for our trip back home to NC. The deserts esp the bibingka brings back memories from childhood in the PI. Nothing special about the location or interior decor, but you don’t go to a Filipino restaurant for that reason rather the food which is beyond expectations. The lechon kawali has good crunch, flavorful tapa, and delicious releno torta. The coffee is on the weaker and water down, but perhaps I’m just used to espresso.

Anyways, we’re already planning on returning.
