Food is ok, hit and miss. Pad Thai has no flavour, not recommended. The coconut milk in the soup and curry are well put together, I recommend those dishes.
Service was great
Decor is a little dated, but it’s ok for the area.

We randomly stumbled across this restaurant, and I’m glad we tried it out. We were greeted by the owner and promptly served with menus and water. The menu is relatively small but packs in the main dishes you’re seeking for within Thai cuisine staples.
I’ve dined at many Thai restaurants and am always quietly impressed when Tom Yum is done well and has a good balance of sweet, sour and heat! The spiciness is accurate, so go easy when selecting how hot (spicy) you like your dishes. Thai iced tea and coffee are always a must, and now that mangoes are back in season, the sticky rice dessert with mango is my favorite go-to. Thank you for the excellent service and great conversation, Teg. Will definitely be back to try out the massaman curry!

It is a small place but it felt like we’re in a fine dining restaurant minus the white linen with a spa-like ambience. For a moment we forgot about Covid as this place is extremely clean. Food is superb! Flavourful that you could taste everything was prepared from scratch (except the ice cream). The Thai New West Restaurant is now my favourite Thai restaurant.

We used to live in new west and
absolutely loved this place back then. Haven’t been for quite some time but had a wonderful
new year eve dinner here.We got the usual yellow and green curry dishes with the delicious crispy spring rolls. Next time your in the neighborhood give them a shot.

This is our new go-to restaurant for Thai food. The portions are smaller compared to other Thai eateries, but the flavours make up for their lack in size. Our regular favourites like curry and lettuce wraps taste better here! The smaller servings mean there’s room for dessert. We tried the deep-fried plantains and they were satisfying. Needless to say, we’re definitely coming back.

Really surprised to find a genuinely bad Thai restaurant these days. The formula is pretty well established, and if the Thai Express in the mall can figure it out, you’d think that any old shop with half a care to give would be able to top.
Well maybe that’s the problem, these guys clearly don’t care. Ordered delivery and the food was absolutely not packaged well, as the bag was leaking from the moment it came in the front door.
Secondly- I’ve never, ever had Thai food that was bland. This nation’s food is incredibly rich in flavor, and even the aforementioned food court mainstays know how to prepare a dish that, while perhaps a bit greasy, at least scratches the itch for Thai.. Thai New West fails there too- flavorless Thom Yum, Flavorless Pad See Ew dripping in cheap cooking oil, Panang Curry with the only notable tone being “sugar”…
This is an embarrassment to Thai food and people.
I hope the owners do some soul searching and maybe even dare try their own food.
I want good restaurants in our area, this is NOT one of them.
Go somewhere else.

So after seeing so many reviews of this place on the eat new west Facebook group it was time to try out Thai New West. The dishes were very well constructed with lovely presentation and tasted so very good. Our server was very kind, friendly and helpful. I had the Pad Med Ma Muang and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had the Pad Bai Horpa. *Big* bonus that our dishes had more meat than vegetables which is not the normal and the vegetables were very fresh tasting. My husband finished with Black Rice Pudding. He (really) enjoyed it. I was too full to try it. We will be back.

Sunday afternoon, not busy at all, great tasting food, surprised very much as I was getting ready to eat something else.
Dishes were big, tables clean, service great.
We’ll be back soon.

I can’t leave an accurate rating because not only were their hours posted incorrectly on Google, they were also posted incorrectly on their own website! After paying five dollars to park on the street in front, we found the place closed at 4:30 PM when it was advertised in two locations to be open. We didn’t feel like standing there waiting for half an hour so we took our business to the Mexican restaurant a few doors down and had a wonderful meal. I was looking forward to Thai food, but I guess you need to call or make a reservation before wasting your time with some of these restaurants who can’t even bother to have the correct opening and closing times on their website.

We just love Vara and Teg and this family run restaurant and its warm atmosphere . The food is always delicious and can be tailor made for people who can’t handle spicy food ( we order mild for my hubby and she brings out chilis for me to add to my plate). We especially love the red curry , the lettuce wraps , and the massamum curry, but everything is delicious . Support this family restaurant , you won’t regret it.
