If you crave a taste of Philly, look no further than Old School Philly Cheesesteaks. I thoroughly enjoyed their mouthwatering cheesesteak, crispy fries, and a selection of nostalgic soda options.

The cheesesteak exceeded my expectations. The sandwich was served on the perfect roll, filled with tender, flavorful beef, sautéed onions, green peppers, and mushrooms, all generously smothered in gooey, melted cheese—5 out of 5 stars.

The fries were hot, fresh, golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, making them the ideal accompaniment to the hearty cheesesteak—5 out of 5 stars.

The staff at Old School Philly Cheesesteaks were accommodating and friendly. I mentioned I was moving nearby, and they warmly welcomed me. They even recommended trying their hot dogs on my next visit, which I’m looking forward to—5 of 5 stars.

Old School Philly Cheesesteaks also offers a fantastic selection of sodas, including classic favorites like Birch Beer and Orange Cream. This adds to the nostalgic experience of savoring an authentic Philly cheesesteak. Several flavors were out or malfunctioning when I was there, but I could enjoy two of my favorites—4 of 5 stars.

The restaurant has a casual and welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent spot for a quick, satisfying meal, whether dining in or taking it to go. The service was friendly and efficient, ensuring an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The restaurant was a little warm but not comfortable. They used fans to keep the air moving, which is very on-brand for Philly —4 of 5 stars.

Old School Philly Cheesesteaks is a must-visit for anyone in the area seeking an authentic cheesesteak experience. The food quality, nostalgic drink options, and inviting atmosphere make it a standout, and I’m excited to visit again and become a regular —5 of 5 stars.

Friendly customer service, very clean. Ordered South Street Philly w/Provolone combo, which basically means you get small fries and a drink saves about $2.50 off the price. My total was $19.55.
Meal made to order, I would order with 1/2 the spice next time. I found price is higher-than-average, *they do not use authentic Amoroso rolls* because their research found the quality had diminished, they DO use Rolls from Ne Jersey – the quality is definitely there! I highly recommend!

Great place for a good Philly or a classic Chicago dog. I went with the South street Philly. Great flavors going on with the minced garlic and the crushed cherry peppers. Also tried the Chicago dog and the loaded fries. Those flavors were explosive. They also make homemade muffins in house that are pretty amazing. Get them while you can because they usually sell out in a day or two.

Today, I gave @oldschoolphillycheesesteaks in Pompano a try. I’ve been following them on social media for a while, and today I decided to give them a go.

Finding a passable cheesesteak in Florida, let alone a good one is not an easy task. I have to say I definitely enjoyed this steak. It started with the roll. It was definitely authentic Philly bread, so clearly they have it shipped in, as there’s no such thing as good bread in Broward county.

Next was the consistency of the ribeye. It was that nice fine line between too thin, and too thick. It meshed well with the onions and Whiz. It could’ve used a tad more seasoning, but hey that’s why there’s salt and pepper shakers… My only complaint really was they put a tad too much Whiz on it. But too much Whiz is far better than too little.

All in all this was a very good steak and I’ll be visiting again! 4.5/5 (for the purposes of Google reviews 5’s all around, because we round up!)

I was so excited to try this place and man was I disappointed. First off it takes a LONG time to get your food. We were waiting over 25mins for a half old school philly and a large old school philly. The food was very nice and hot but was SO bland. No flavor at all. It was very disappointing. I honestly think it’s the worst Philly I have ever had. It supposed to have green peppers, I think I counted 5 small pieces of green pepper between the 2 that we got. Another thing, there was literally more meat in the half then the large. You can clearly see the half sandwich is probably as much if not more food then the large. If your looking for a delicious Philly this is not the place to go unfortunately.

I’m from South Jersey and between Pat’s and Geno’s in Philly and the White House in Atlantic City, I know a thing or two about cheese steaks! I can tell you that this is the best cheese steak I have had in South Florida! As good or better than your favs in Philly because they make it to order and not just part of a mass production. I had the classic “wit, wiz” and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

We tried Old School Philly the week it opened. My chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. Fresh and flavorful with lots of awesome topping options. My friend and I shared a traditional Philly cheesesteak because we’d heard from friends that nowhere in South Florida makes them better. They were right. Wow. Exceptional. Plus, the staff was friendly and helpful, food came fast, and the place is pristine clean. Bravo!! Can’t wait to go back.

Food was ok, nothing to write home about. My wife and I had cheesesteak with whiz and onions. The cheesesteaks didn’t have enough whiz and the fries had too much pepper. It was a little on the expensive side for the quality of food. I didn’t hate it but I probably wouldn’t go again. The birch beer was a yummy touch and the service was good.

Edit: I emailed the owner at the address below and never heard a response. This is really sad, I was hoping to give them some feedback and try it again but I guess I’ll just never go again.

Edit 1/13/22
I was contacted by the owner about 2 weeks ago and he invited me back into the restaurant to give them another try. He asked for feedback, and was genuine in his responses. I always appreciate a restaurant that reaches out after a good or bad review but to invite me back personally shows that he takes pride in his establishment. Fast forward to today, it’s like a tale of two cities with the meals: this was delicious. The cheese steaks were made well – plenty of whiz (see photo now attached). The fries were seasoned well, and really good too. The place was clean as it was previously and the birch beer was just as good. I am happy to see that the owner really took the time to listen and read the reviews, work with the staff, and improve at least my experience. I’ll be back again the next time I have a cheesesteak hankering.

My first time here, and I want to say that from customer service to food, this cheese steak shop is the best I’ve been to, and I’ve tried so many. The sandwich was fresh, hot and just very good, even the fries came out hot and fresh. You could tell they put their hearts into making their food and I really appreciate that. Will definitely come back thank you.
