This is one of the best dessert places in New Haven. Their mouth melting cloud cakes are the best! Their menu features some other delicious sweet items as well worth trying out. They have amazing selected beverages in their menu.
The indoor seating area is much smaller though so mostly takes out is preferred.

Good spot to charge and reset if you’re walking around the city. Their matcha latte was good but a little too mild and milky for my taste. They offer lots of self-serve pastries, but when I visited later in the day, most were gone.

Found this place on our way through New Haven on a road trip. After driving all day, we were excited for a snack.
We like hot tea in the evening and saw they had a selection.
The guy at the register was helpful and we picked out macrons to enjoy.

Reason for lower stars—

It was 30 minutes before closing so we figured we could eat 2 cookies and finish our tea in that time without disturbing the staff.
The young black guy was sweet and patiently helped us.
After we got our food…
A young Asian man came and told us to get up and leave the restaurant.
He said we were not allowed to sit and eat our food close to closing time.

I politely told him “It’s 2 cookies, we won’t make any mess and we will be out in 10 minutes. ”
He said “No exceptions, you have to leave.”

I have never heard of a restaurant that kicks people out 20 minutes before they close.

We didn’t know the area so we tried to walk to the park down the street to finish our cookies and tea.
It was full of homeless people and a woman stopped us and told us it’s not safe at night to be there. The cops were arresting people on the other side of the street.

We ended up having to go sit and finish our treats in our car.
Pretty disappointing they couldn’t let us sit after spending $30.
Some of the macrons were good.
The tea was nice. (Kinda hard to mess up tea).
Close at 8 pm or hire new staff that knows how to treat customers.

Went back in the next morning because we were passing by and told the manager. She looked at me like I was speaking a gibberish and defended the employee “well, they were closing…”
Every single business I ever worked at, including many restaurants, we served the customers until the moment the place closed and didn’t make them eat outside.
So now I know why the staff is ignorant.
They have no management or customer service skills.

Came in on the recommendation of somebody who works in a nearby shop and was delighted at the selection here.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, so the service was great.
There is an extensive menu of pastries, cakes, and drinks, as well as sandwiches and breads.
I chose a chocolate almond croissant and a slice of matcha cake. Both were excellent.

The croissant was exactly the way it should be; flaky, crisp on the outside, fluffy and buttery on the inside. The chocolate was rich, and perfectly complimented the croissant.

The matcha cake was a dream. I’m not a big fan of heavy, overly sweet frosting, so this cake was perfect. The cake itself was dense and moist, and the frosting was a light whipped cream type, and it was topped with a grape and a little piece of chocolate. My only real complaint could be that the slice is quite small, but not unreasonably so.

I took a star off for atmosphere because the entire place is so white, it feels almost sterile.

They have roll cakes for sale. So I fully intend to go back and get one soon!

I have stopped into this place on two occasions. The first was 20 minutes before they were closing, all of the pastries and cakes were out of the cases and chairs were all up on the tables. I respected the fact that they were close to closing and left without purchasing anything but thought it was a bit strange that they were not friendly or welcoming and had already had everything wrapped up for closibg so early. The second time I visited this place was more than an hour before they closed and it was a similar scenario where they were wrapping things up out of the case and chairs were up on some of the tables. The person behind the counter was not friendly at all and even after we stepped up to the counter they did not say hello or come over to service us for a full minute or so, and continued their closing activities. The cake I had was good but nothing to write home about. I can’t speak too much on the actual foods that this place serves but the service was not friendly or welcoming.

Went there actually multiple times but I will only talk about the time I went to get my free slice of cake because of my birthday! They do offer multiple pastries and really fresh and tasty and I also got my birthday cake from them and was really good! Their seating is really big and comfortable !I highly recommend this bakery

Delicious, fresh pastries, bread and cake!

The chocolate cloud cake was by far my favorite. It was not too heavy, and the chocolate strawberries inside were the perfect touch to add to the sweetness.

The foliage sausage bread was good. The sausage inside tasted like hot dogs which was slightly disappointing, but the bread itself was really flavorful. The milk pillow bread is a must try. Just so fluffy (literally a pillow).

Service was great and there is plenty of seating inside. Street parking, as well as nearby parking garages.

My family dropped in for a quick brunch treat. Everything was delicious! We had a hard time choosing. You grab a tray and serve yourself, which is fast and convenient. The friendly staff made our cappuccino quickly. Very clean and bright.

I love bakeries! I love sweets and bread. This place has soft breads and an assortment of bakes. Not too sweet (which is what I like), so for the most part, I get this cinnamon twist bread, which I think is their best item. For me, it’s not a daily or weekly spot. Just an every once in a while. That’s my personal opinion. Atmosphere is chill and clean.
