This is the place for bbq in UGA country! The Turkey Plate with two sides (Mac and cheese and side salad) were outstanding! I paired the Turkey with their sweet bbq sauce and their spicy one. It was sublime! My wife had the pulled chicken with sides of green beans and fried okra. She loved it, too! The portions are very generous. Service is done with distinct Southern charm and friendliness! We’re even buying quarts of their sauce for our son’s wedding reception! Go to When Pigs Fly…you will not regret it!

Great atmosphere and friendly service. Once we ordered, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The sandwich was a large portion for the price and tasted great! It’s a family friendly place with plenty of seating inside and on their patio.

I totally support local small business. The owners hard at work , checking on us. Restaurant clean and inviting. Food, fresh and delicious. Living in Tx, I am familiar with great BBQ. The ribs were amazing, the burnt ends absolutely delicious, and no complaints from family. We look forward to returning. Fresh , hot homemade menu

The barbecue was okay The French fries were cooked to death, even after I asked my server for some fries that were not brown. She went back and brought me some fresh brown french fries. Being that the potatoes are already dead I just don’t understand! The plate was generous and the server was good

First time eating here, I ordered sweet tea w/ lemon, sampler with pulled pork and ribs, comes with 2 sides: I chose potato salad and Brunswick stew with Texas toast. Let me tell you this place had me feeling like a flying pig walking out! The food is just delicious and the staff are down home good folk! Really enjoyed it and will be coming back soon!

We went there a few weeks ago coming back from out of town. My wife placed an order to go. The app stated would be ready at 6. Walk in at 6 and took 15 minutes for the order. When the nice young lady brought it out some there were a few mistakes. I started eating the French Fries as they started to get cold. 10 more minutes the correct items were brought out. When we got home she realized the bark was missing. I didn’t know she ordered or I would have checked before we left. The ribs we couldn’t eat and we were very disappointed.
Since past experience Les were good I thought I would give the owner a chance to make it right. I emailed and sent 2 letters to the owner. No replies.
We will not be back and not recommend.

When Pig’s Fly BBQ is nothing short of AMAZING!

Piedmont Soccer Academy recently partnered with them for a fundraiser to help raise money for new soccer goals, and we could not be more grateful. From start to finish, their staff was incredible—professional, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly for our families and supporters.

And let’s talk about the food… the Boston butts were out of this world! Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection—everyone raved about them. It’s no surprise they sold so well, because when quality meets care, you just can’t go wrong.

At Piedmont Soccer Academy, we truly appreciate their support of our players and community. It’s businesses like When Pig’s Fly BBQ that make a lasting impact far beyond the dinner table. We strongly encourage everyone to give them a try—you’ll not only get some of the best BBQ around, but you’ll also be supporting a business that gives back in a big way.

Thank you, When Pig’s Fly BBQ, for helping us reach our goals—literally!

Was in Monroe today, and finally got to try When Pigs Fly BBQ, after hearing good things. First, this place is HUGE, and despite that, it was still packed, and for good reason.

The staff here was pleasant and very helpful. I ordered take-out, and they served me very quickly.

I ordered the Pulled Pork Plate, with Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans. The pork was excellent. Well cooked, and with the suite sauce it was fantastic. The baked beans were great; sweet and tangy, and the Mac & Cheese was some of the best I have ever had.

Overall, this place is top-notch!

We tried When Pigs Fly BBQ yesterday at lunch time. We were seated right away even though the restaurant was busy. We were very impressed to see the honor wall for all branches of military and firefighters. The food was delicious and plentiful. 3 of the 4 of us had to take the rest of our lunch home! The hostess, waitress and manager were all friendly. I highly recommend this wonderful establishment.

Great little place in Monroe for good food and a great atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our meal. We had the chicken, stew, potato salad, green beans, slaw, and brisket for dinner. Food was hot fresh and service was spot on from the start. For dessert we had the banana pudding (homemade in house everyday) very good with a cup of coffee. Stop by and give them a try if you are in downtown Monroe, Georgia. 5 stars for When Pigs Fly BBQ!
