Calming, Feel-good Food & Atmosphere

I’ll absolutely be going back! It’s a locally owned, made in-house cafe with a pleasant, tranquil atmosphere. The door stayed open, letting in fresh air, and the walls were decorated with floor-to-ceiling art featuring peaceful scenes that I felt like I could step into.

The food is incredible. I had their Cranberry Hummus wrap, which was so massive that I thought I would have to take half of it home (and probably will next time – but it was too good to stop myself then, haha). Be sure to get one of their smoothies, too! The Peaches Delight is lovely (peaches, mango, yogurt, and honey). I left feeling full, refreshed, and relaxed. Highly recommended!

What a pleasure to have lunch at a small family-owned local business that delivers what it promises. Organic Farm Fresh food that is simply prepared and just delicious. I could not help but notice that everything on every table looked beautiful colorful and freshly made. The menu is simple and everything is made from scratch. This is an American Style Cafe with healthy sandwiches, wraps, bowls, and salads. The owner is Mexican and she makes the most delicious salsa and chips that I’ve had on the east coast. The daily lunch special is absolutely brilliant offering a cup of soup, a half sandwich or wrap, beverage along with chips and salsa as a side, for $12.99. Definitely the best deal in town. The owner’s son is the manager of the little cafe and together they form a charming friendly team that clearly has regular customers coming back again and again for years. For me any restaurant is about the energy of the people who are preparing and serving your food. From Five Star to small local sandwich shop, if the energy is not right I don’t want to be there. The energy in this Cafe is beautiful, peaceful and it truly does feel like a garden. What I love about eating nutritious food is that I walk away feeling really good and energized. This is a beautiful little spot which is more like a food temple than a Cafe. Please be sure to check it out.

Love the hummus and avocado wrap. The chips and salsa that comes on the side are really good and so are the soups. We also love to get breakfast. Good, healthy food that is not greasy.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since 2015, when they were at their old location, and at first the atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and kind. They all know me I am a bit of a regular now however, I don’t believe I can ever go back again. Started about two years ago I noticed the atmosphere had changed, and the staff was a little more self involved and neglected things a bit. As time progressed the service has drastically lowered in quality. Now, when I go there, I do not feel welcomed. When I ask questions, it seems like I am a bother to them or they just don’t answer. I’d love to give at least 2 to 3 stars for the food, but I can’t even do that because the last time I brought my children, a dead fly was on my daughter’s waffles, and the lady just removed it and moved on. I was completely taken aback by that, but I still gave the place another chance. However, the atmosphere is already not so inviting. With glares coming from the ladies in the back whenever you need something. Definitely sad to lose a place I once considered a gem, but it’s not the restaurant I fell in love with anymore.

This is one of the few places in the area with some decent 100% plant-based options along with animal-based items. We just had breakfast here for the first time, but I’ve been here a few times myself for lunch. The tofu scrambled ‘eggs’ were great. I chose the beans which were great, but I’ll try their potatoes next time. My wife liked her breakfast burrito. We saw some pictures of their salads that look like nothing we’ve had anywhere else (including some that are 100% plant-based), so will definitely have to try those. And, the prices are extremely reasonable. We’ll definitely be back. Try it out!

I had a delicious salmon patty sandwich. It had a chipotle sauce that was still quite mild. A little messy to eat. The chips and salsa served on the side were good but I wish they had other options for a side. The service was friendly and quick in the afternoon!

Found this gem while traveling. We don’t eat out much because we are very particular about our food and where it comes from. We were excited to find a fully organic restaurant. I got the low carb spicy bowl. It was so good and huge! I couldn’t finish it. The salsa and guac were amazing! We’ll stop here again if we’re ever in the area!

I have driven past this restaurant many times and decided today to take a chance. I thought it was a vegan restaurant but i was wrong. The food here was AMAZING. Everything was fresh and tasty. I had the fajita chicken wrap and it was spot on. Our service was top notch. Can not say enough good things about this place. We will 100% eat here again.

4- Stars

The distribution of restaurants in this county is uneven. It’s almost as if some cosmic restaurant emunctory spreading whale passed overhead. North County has comfort food, i.e., Southern food and donuts. South County has fine dining and charred cows. What does that leave for the good folk residing in the Central portion of our county? After my second excursion to Peace in the Garden Cafe, they have two great vegan/health food restaurants within one mile of each other.

When I previously dined at Peace in the Garden Cafe, it garnered a 3-star review. This time, I found the food much improved; however, Adriana, our service member, was not good. By not good, I mean she moved at a snail’s pace and seemed relatively uninterested in us, her job, the whole ordeal. In a slop house where I am one of two customers, it should take less than eight minutes for first contact (yes, I do time this).

The plus side is that while awaiting first contact, I noticed an elderly gentleman well above 80 wearing a brown pompadour rug and driving a black Pontiac Firebird with a license plate that read, “Bandit.” I kid you not. Ah, what’s not to love about Florida? I kept a look-out for his proverbial “arm candy,” but alas, I saw no such animal.

I managed to finagle an order for the Tofu Ruben Wrap and a Tuna Salad Sandwich. At least the person in the kitchen was moving at the proper speed, as my food was ready in no time. If you peek at the accompanying pictures, you see everything looks fresh. In this case, looks were not deceiving. I found the Tofu Ruben Wrap to be delightful. The tofu was firm and the combined flavors, whatever they were composed of, hinted at a good deli Ruben. The blue tortilla chips on the side were fresh, warmed and crunchy, with just a hint of sea salt.

Moving on to the Tuna Salad Sandwich. I would like to draw your attention to the pictures once again. Just look at how fresh that tuna appears to be. The size of the chunks is impressive and the sliced pickle was huge, fresh and crispy. This sandwich was indeed a pleasure on the palate.

The Big Boy says, “Unless you live in Mims or Micco, this place is worth the drive.”
