I ordered take out for new years! I got three dishes, veg chow mein, chicken fried rice & sweet & sour pork. Super happy with portions, taste and speed on preparation. When I arrived for pick-up I was a bit early and the person operating the front was so nice and the space felt warm and friendly. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

Friendliest restraunt ive been to yet in Victoria 🙂 eclectic decor, family run (and probably owned?) Got the combo a which came with cookies for dessert and they also gave me a free appetizer of spring rolls and a chinese donut! They also have buffet.

I recall visiting this place >5 years ago for the buffet. Ordered the chicken fried rice and it was really different from the traditional version. Felt more like – seasoned chicken over rice! It had a lot of vegetables like broccoli and red peppers that is usually not the norm. Still the flavours were good and they also offered complementary spring rolls which was a nice touch. The owners are super warm and welcoming as well, how can I rate any lower than 5 stars now! 😀

My wife and I dropped in here without realizing that it was about 15-20 minutes before closing. We were warmly greeted and shown a table and a menu. We ordered their dinner for two and a small wonton soup. Both were fantastic, with the wonton soup being a standout. After dinner we had some green tea. It was only as we were leaving that we realized we were past their normal closing time.
They never rushed during our meal and were very friendly. Highly recommend this place especially because of the great service we received.

We went for a late dinner and arrived 1hr before closing. First of all, the atmosphere was completely unexpected and warm. I have walked past this place 100s of times and had no idea that kind of charm existed on that block of downtown. The service was immediately welcoming and incredibly friendly. They indicated that they just finished their dinner rush and would be brining more food out for the buffet, but to help ourselves in the meantime. We sat down with our first plates and rather than bringing food to the buffet, they brought fresh dishes straight to our table as the kitchen prepared them. With each delivery she joyfully expressed “enjoy! more coming!”
At one point I mentioned I didn’t eat pork (which was plentiful in the buffet options) & so, without asking, a plate of chicken balls showed up at our table, though it wasn’t offered in the current buffet. The food was good, our favourites were the deep fried prawns and fish tempura. The whole experience was so pleasant & we were very happy to support a lovely family run business.

We loved it here! I cannot tell you enough how nice the owners are. We chatted with them while we waited for our takeout and it made me want to eat dinner with them every night.
The food was SO good! We’ve tried lots of places in the area when we visit my dad here and this is definitely are favourite. We ordered like 12 dishes. We especially loved the minced pork dish and samosas.
Their building is also gorgeous. A heritage building with brick walls. I love it here

To say my friend and I like this place is an understatement… We absolutely adore this restaurant and its owners! Came in earlier in the week for dinner and we had such a great meal, we came back for lunch a few days later. The owners remembered us and our individual food preferences to a T. Such great atmosphere, hospitality, and food. Definitely recommend the real fruit boba, was a refreshing and genuine tasting drink. We can’t wait for our next trip to Victoria to say hi and grab a bite! Thank you Hope Key!

When I think about the “customer service “in a lot of businesses these days, it makes me so hopeful when I find a sweet place like this. So it’s a little different but in a great way. I ordered some vegetarian dishes and they were very good. I felt special and welcomed the moment I stepped in. And I really appreciate the fortune cookie. Sorry I don’t take pictures of my food!

Such a great place to eat! The food is delicious and the restaurant has a fun and somewhat whimsical atmosphere. The highlight for me though was the owners, they’re super friendly and very gracious hosts. Easy recommendation and I’ll definitely be back 🙂
