Delicious and super flavorful food!! Definitely one of if not my favorite Chinese place I’ve ever tried. Such a gem in an unexpected location. I keep going back for the mapo tofu and tried the hot and spicy fish and the chicken dry pot today which I loved!

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Paoli. The appearance is very modest but the food is fantastic, service is really prompt, and they have lunch specials which are great value for money.

I recommend the Dandan noodles or dry pepper style chicken for appetizers, and the hunan and kung pao chicken for entrées.

We’ve been here over 10 times, and is our go-to for Chinese food in the area. Ambiance is not fancy, but the food more than makes up for it. Every dish is always delicious (e.g., Westlake beef soup, string beans w/minced pork, chow fun, dry hot pots, sesame chicken, mapo tofu, etc.). A big plus is that the food comes out FAST so great when the kids are hungry! Prices are very reasonable, too.

Have been visiting this restaurants for more than 5 times now. We always have dinner here every time we come to Philadelphia. It never disappointed us. We always ordered 2 main dishes for 2 people.

The food is very delicious and authentic with spice. The order comes out very fast. Service was great. The restaurant is always busy with a lot of customers.

We went to celebrate my mom’s 55th birthday party based on the good reviews. We had over 20 people and it was a huge disappointment. The servers and the owner were rude and cheap. They charge for take out containers $1 a piece. ( The lady said it’s too much and gave a nasty attitude). If you are going to do good business don’t be cheap. We didn’t feel welcome at all. The lady also said out loud you need to leave tip… When we already set a side money. After being seated less than 20 mins we were reminded that we have to eat fast because there was another party coming in soon. Overall would NOT recommend and we would not come back for sure. One and only time. For spending over $500 including tip and being treated like that? No thanks!! Food was nothing special, taste just like any other Asian place.

I got the Kung Pao chicken and cumin lamb. Both were excellent. The food came out very quickly. Staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Next time I’m in the area I’ll eat here again.

As someone new to Chinese cuisine, I would recommend avoiding the Dong Dong noodles if you’re unfamiliar with the flavors. However, the cumin lamb was quite good. The ambiance could use some improvement, but overall, it was an interesting experience.
As useal fried rice is fentastic, veg roles are quite regular.
Veg recommend: Lo mein veg

We came for lunch around 1-2PM for a party of 2. It wasn’t very busy, maybe 1 or 2 tables were occupied. We were seated immediately and given a takeout menu to look at.

We ordered the Dan Dan Noodles and Steamed Pork Dumplings for our appetizers. For my main dish, I ordered the Braised Brisket with Lightly Fried Tofu in Hot Pot.

The Dan Dan Noodles came out first. It was quite a large serving and could probably pass as a entree dish. Even sharing between the two of us, we were almost nearly full by the time the entrees came out. The noodles were good, but a little spicy! It did taste like chili oil as well. If you’re not a fan of spicy food, you may not enjoy this dish.

The Steamed Pork Dumplings came out next. There were 6 pieces total. I honestly can’t remember too much about the dumplings–not bad but not good.

The Braised Brisket with Lightly Fried Tofu in Hot Pot was quite delicious. It is a soup-based dish and there’s plenty of it to share. The broth was delicious, though a little on the saltier side. The brisket was a little tough but still good. It does have skin attached to some of the brisket pieces, which I didn’t quite enjoy, but there were sufficient pieces without the skin also. The tofu is firm, and as the name of the dish suggests, lightly fried. It tasted good but I wonder if a softer tofu would complement the dish better.

Overall, Cheng Du was a nice little spot to stop in for authentic Chinese dishes. The dishes have big serving sizes, so I would recommend ordering less than you would think. We ended up taking most, if not all, of our entrees home. The food was good and the staff were quick and friendly.

The food is excellent, and appropriately flavored.

They start you out with oolong tea, which is authentic tasting.

The egg rolls are just okay- low on taste but the sauce which is a sweet and sour chili is solid.

For a main course I got chicken with garlic sauce and fried rice. Highly recommend. Incredible flavor, not too bland not too spicy, complex flavor profile.

Excellent for the cost.

Only 15 dollars total for all the food, which is incredible.

We got take out the other day. The general tsos chicken was delicious. It was all white meat and no funky pieces. The lo mein and fried rice were also very good. We will definitely order from here again.
