Whether they made it a profession or not, the importance of gathering remained. We thank them for creating this culture. It gave us the framework and motivation into creating the place you love to frequent. We started our journey with individual pursuits of degrees in various fields, but it was our shared experiences of a combined 30+ years in the restaurant industry through what started as a way to earn money t…

The staff is exceptionally friendly in a way that feels genuine, not forced. The whole place has this comforting, “we’re glad you’re here” energy. The food? Absolutely amazing. Perfectly sized portions, incredibly fresh ingredients, and everything tasted like it was made to order with real care.
So glad we wandered in—John’s Table just earned a spot on our new favorite list. Highly recommend!
For dinner I had one of the three main-course vegetarian options, the Olympian. A delicious falafel patty burger. No regrets for sure. Hubs had the Highfalutin’ Steak and finished it before I got to the second half of my burger. He loved it.
We split the seasonal dessert cobbler (blueberry) and enjoyed that thoroughly as well.
We enjoyed the atmosphere. We sat at the bar because there was a bus-full of people in the dining area. It was quiet enough to enjoy each other’s company.
I noticed a private-event area at the front of the restaurant, so if you’re looking for someone to host an event, definitely consider John’s Table.
We actually came here after climbing and may have been a little stinky, so Susan and Tom if y’all are reading this I could tell that you were a little disturbed by the smell and I’m sorry.
They had a hot chocolate bar which was a welcomed surprise only problem was Trina (fake name) asked the server for a ramkin of soy sauce to add in to it. I’m not one to judge people but that was highly unnerving. She seems happy, the phyco
It was also cool that they had paintings to buy there, and the funny thing is Kim Roller is actually her old roommates sister in law. And I’m not sure how but she convinced me to buy one of them because Kim is just a struggling artist working a side job at the great Scott’s diner and she could really use the morale boost by one of her big paintings getting sold. Anyways there goes 500 bucks.
By the time dinner got there I had already heard the same 3 stories about her bird like 12 times each. I think she has memory issues from the time she tried to ride a yoga ball down a slip-n-slide. Or she just really likes her bird.
Anyway, great atmosphere, great food, would recommend for a date night or have climbing drinks.
But wish me luck boys for a world rocking 3 minute performance tonight.
Update from a week later: I PR’ed and made it a whole minute and 37 seconds
John’s table staff was amazing and I have to say by far one of the best prime rib phillys I have ever had. This is truly a hidden gem in Louisville.
Service, scene, and food absolutely top notch!
Well done to that team!
Now that that’s over, I’d first like to thank Talia for her wonderful attentive service, but also her expert communication. When the kitchen had an issue and had to remake one of our dishes she didn’t waste and beat and told us what was happening. Communication is something that I feel is often overlooked in the service industry, but Talia is an exemplar of what it should mean to work in the industry.
The atmosphere was good, but the food was spectacular. The little disappointed my poké bowl did not have salmon, however once I bitten to the cauliflower I was met with a very satisfying crunch and quite delicious flavor.
My girlfriend absolutely loved her mac and cheese, I had a few bites and it was spectacular.
Overall Johns table has freat service, great ambience, and great food!
I cannot wait for my next opportunity to dine with y’all!
