‘If I made it here, anybody can’: Owners say goodbye to restaurant …
Reviews
I’d say it’s worth a try for anyone who hasn’t been to this place.
Now it was a bit confusing for those of us who have never been there before but there were several doors to enter, we chose the door and really awning which led into the bar.
Upon entering the bar which was pretty full of Patriots for a Sunday, we looked around and noticed another door into what seemed to be the dining area. Once going through that door into the dining area we were greeted from a voice about 20 feet saying welcome have a seat wherever you like.
After finding a suitable table of our liking we were approached by very friendly young lady well-mannered well-groomed big smile on her face allmost like happy to see us.
She asked us how we were doing as she was handing out the menus and the drink menus told us her name and said she’d be our server.
The menu also acted as a placemat which I found to be quite innovative,
Clever and time-saving, who likes them big bulky menus that you got to open to look at and fold over to get to the drinks or appetizers and they just get in the way.?
Ok ok, so… After ordering our food and drinks, the drinks were brought out immediately as we enjoyed some Daytona 500 and some sports on multiple flat screens placed around the bar and dining area.
The salads and appetizers were brought out followed by the main course a few minutes later maybe 15 minutes. But perfect timing giving us ample time to eat our salads and our appetizer.
The food arrived at our table hot steaming fresh at very eye appealing.
The atmosphere of the dining area was one of fine dining, not too bright not too dark just perfect.
The food was right on point.
Delicious, big portions, and served in a manner of fine restaurant dining . Check out was easy, the associates made us feel very welcome, and family like. I definitely recommend it to anyone in the area or those who find thereselves driving by to stop for dinner, lunch or even a drink. You’ll love it, we did .
BBQ pit, i give you 5 stars.
In the warmer months, diners can eat outside, or under protection outside, or choose inside the building. Someone was smoking outside, so I chose inside.
The lighting inside is oddly orangey-dark. It’s tricky to see the menu, located on the placemat. To note, the menu on their website isn’t accurate.
I ordered the chicken fingers. My one friend ordered the mozz sticks, crab balls for us to share, and the crab soup, the other ordered the patty melt.
Once I tasted the appetizers, I regretted my order. The crab balls and mozz sticks had that “burned oil” or “bad oil ” taste. I don’t know how else to describe fried food that is done in such a way that the food flavor becomes nondescript, and the oil after- taste takes over.
My friend said his soup was good, but only lukewarm.
My chicken fingers were sad. They were plentiful, and could have been delicious if prepared differently. The oil flavor robbed my palate of the tender chicken hiding beneath.
My other friend enjoyed his patty melt though, from seated across from him the bread looked saturated in oil. My view apparantly wasn’t the case as he really enjoyed it. It must have been the bad lighting.
The waitress was working her tail off, handling all three areas of dining, as well as take out orders.
I might try BBQ Pit again and order a gyro, or a menu item that hasn’t been fried.
