With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

My favorite coffee place of all time! They offer flavored coffees that still taste like coffee (similar to asking for half syrup other places). Love their cold brew with cold foam on a hot day. Their smoothies are also amazing, you can get a lemonade slushy base or an ice cream base. My husband hates coffee but loves their Bright Energy drinks where you can add a whole variety of flavors. Their rewards are worthwhile too. But best of all is that ALL the staff are always the nicest most sunshiney people I’ve met. Love going here!

I’ve been visiting this Human Bean location for over a year now, and every single time they prove why they’re the best. The service and customer experience are consistently outstanding. The staff here are genuinely friendly, always welcoming customers with a warm smile and a kind attitude.
My regular order is the Granita — and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refreshing and delicious drink.

I tried the pistachio vanilla iced latte, and my husband ordered the iced eggnog latte. We both found our lattes to be overly sweet, making it difficult to distinguish the individual flavors. Additionally, the espresso was not smooth and had a very acidic taste. On a positive note, the sausage breakfast sandwich was delicious, although it was small for the price. If you enjoy extremely sweet lattes, this is the place for you!

Ordered a green tea smoothie and a carmel granita via drivethru. Both substituted with soy milk.
We enjoyed both drinks and the little bean snack was surprise! (It’s a white chocolate covered coffee bean)
Service was friendly and it wasn’t busy on a Sunday afternoon.

They struggle to make a mocha latte everytime I go, just a regular mocha latte no add one, like it’s never right. Always watery. Wouldn’t recommend this little coffee shop.
EDIT: 1/16/26 I tried one last in hopes of a good coffee, i ordered a cappuccino and omg it was terrible, it tasted like wet dog water I immediately threw it away. They’re overpriced, put very little effort into making your order taste good. I think out of the 5x I’ve been here I’ve enjoyed 1 coffee. But I can go to Dunkin and get the same thing and it tastes great. I truly don’t understand what you guys are doing wrong.

Best coffee in the world by far. And they give you a vanilla chocolate covered bean on top of your coffee as a treat. I can eat a whole bag of them they are so delicious. And they add a half or full scoop of protein to your coffee which is great!

Woman with the glasses always has an attitude the other day I came back up there to let them know that they didn’t give me my muffin and they were having an attitude about giving my muffin and then they don’t even put the eggs in a tray anymore…when they give it to me they put it in a bag and it sticks to the bag terribly! takes away half of my order cause it’s stuck to the bag Not so good service if you don’t like where you work at please find a new job cause there’s people out here that enjoy human bean but I will personally stop coming since you guys don’t like serving customers

This was my first visit to The Human Bean and I will say that I had a pleasant experience. I ordered the Strawberry Mango Red Bull smoothie, dairy free (so no whip cream). The size was 20 oz, can’t remember the price, maybe $5-6. I did have a lot of questions and the lady on the intercom was very helpful. I will be back to try their coffee! (forgot to take a before pic)

Absolutely love this place! My husband and i lived in Indiana for 7 months and he took me to get me my coffee every weekend at this coffee shop. It was absolutely delicious and wish i had a place near by in Alabama. This place is drive thru only, the workers were extremely nice and they always have a little chocolate covered espresso bean on the top. I always got the large with chocolate, hazelnut and caramel. I definitely recommend this place. They are VERY reasonably priced, as well. I’ve been to many, many coffee shops and this one still sits at the top of the list for me. We will be back to this location and shop!

We order a peach smoothie and 2 americanos one hot one iced all very good!
