This place used to be amazing. I don’t know happened to this place. New cooks? New management? Both?

The last several times I’ve ordered this place, the quality of the food has been sub-par. Giving this place the benefit of doubt, we ordered this place a few more times, thinking it was just off days for them.

Nope, this place has gone to crap. Everytime we ordered this place, the past few times the food had been burnt to the point of being inedible. To be honest with you, the food doesn’t look bad. But you can smell the burn. I don’t know if you’ve ever smelled a pan thats been overheated really really bad, but that’s what the food tastes like. The food tastes like extremely burnt pan. It’s like eating poison.

This had been the case the past 3 times I’ve ordered this place. Tonight has been no different. On top of that, the rice was undercooked. All of my meals came with half cooked crunchy rice. Its been disappointment after disappointment.

I really used to love this place, but I can’t recommend this place anymore. If management is reading this, I hope you can address these issues to bring this place back to what it used to be, starting with re-training the cooks and doing better quality control of the food.

I used to love eating the food here. Not anymore. The quality of the food used to be great and it tasted like authentic Korean food. It came fresh and hot. It was as close to the food as I could get made by my Korean mother-in-law from Korea. The food used to be filling and had good meat portions most of the time. I’ve always enjoyed the Rock and Piggy.

I’ve ordered the last 4 times and each time the food was inedible. Like many others are complaining about, the piggy meat was so burnt you could smell the char. I got 3 pieces of rock and they barely had any sauce. The rice was so undercooked it literally still had its shape, crunch, and white color like before it is cooked. I don’t know what happened but it seems to get worse each time I order. I also order for a family of 4 and each time the food has been inedible. I literally crave the food how it used to be and have tried 4 separate spread out occasions to order from here but I don’t think I can do it anymore. We also ordered wings but only got a half order. We evidently had to throw all of the food away each time now and order something else resulting in a very late dinner which isn’t fun with children. I’m so sad. 🙁

Place is filthy (see pictures). Tables and bathroom light switch has layers of caked on dirt.
The person making our food used his bare hands to touch our food.
Dried noodles that were served and totally inedible.
Would never go here again. Was excited to see this place nearby because the one in Glendale was so much better. So disappointed.

Ordered through Uber Eats with a promo to try something new and it showed the vendor as streetbang urban street food. After ordering it showed to pick up at cup bop. This dish is an abomination to even call it a bibimbap. This has American frozen steamed vegetables with no flavors. No glass noodles or kimchi as shown or described. Flavor is completely off and overall just a complete waste of a meal.

I can’t imagine anyone paying $19 for this normal price without their promo. Even with the promo this definitely is not worth this much.

Food quality is awful. I used to love cupbop before it went corporate and only my had a few locations in Utah. I went in and showed the kid the brown and dried chicken and he’s like that’s normal, and I said no way and pretty much had to beg him to make me real fresh chicken. Not going back, which makes me sad cause I used to love it here.

So we tried this out the first time tonight and got it to go. I got the rock and koko as my proteins, and I literally got 3 pieces of rock and about 4 substantial pieces of the koko. I also got maybe a strand of cabbage, a layer of noodles, and the rest was rice. Also the sauce it came with was kind of separated and warm, while the food was cold, I just threw the sauce out. My wife just ate it all but I opted to microwave my food when I got home. I only live about 10 minutes away and left right after I ordered so it’s a little weird things got so cold/warm.

I will say the food I did get was tasty, even after being reheated but it seems like for $12 you might get more than 80% rice. Probably not going back, at least to this location.

I have always loved coming to CupBop after a shift at my old job. The food was delicious and very yummy. After visiting this time (around 6 months after my old position) I found the place was disgusting and the rice/noodles were stale from being reheated (under a heat lamp and in a too hot rice cooker). This location was also very dirty and disgusting: the POS system had dirty marks on the front and the back (picture attached) and the tables had this sticky greasy residue. The chairs were dirty too, the legs having dirty markings. The soda machine area being dirty as well. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was also shooting too much soap, causing some soap to shoot onto the outside of the trashcan. The cashier was also very judgemental: giving us weird looks. I understand that it’s important to get good reviews but paying for them with mandoo seems a bit rude. Especially after they told us that we didn’t get a mandoo with our meal because she didn’t get the right one: despite the video playing behind the cash register saying that each bowl gets a free mandoo. Not too happy for sure: I wonder what happened.
