Been here a few times and the food is mediocre and overpriced. You can genuinely get the same anywhere else. Their shrimp tempura roll was decent and so was the spicy crab roll spent $23 for it…Kani salad was ok but dry and not the best. Their chicken dumplings are ok as well. Their shrimp tempura were good. Nothing really spectacular. If you want something quick I would suggest. Service is a bit lukewarm. Place is beautiful though.

The other day I was in the Hudson Yards area and passed by Surma Sushi & Ramen and decided to stop in and check it out. I ordered a Deluxe Sashimi set and the Shrimp Tempura roll. Both items were good the Deluxe Sashimi had a variety of different fish. There was Fluke, Scallops, 3 kinds of Tuna and Salmon. The presentation of the Deluxe Sashimi and the Shrimp Tempura were much different than the plastic containers that Im used to having my sushi served in. The waitresses were very attentive with with water refills and making sure everything was ok with my food. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area to have good sushi.

We had salmon crispy rice ($16). This dish is very special. You can’t really eat it anywhere else.
We also had curry karage ramen. The karage is on the soft side. The curry sauce is a little too spicy for us. But the dish is good anyway.
Waiters are very certeous.

Food is good but overpriced. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I really liked the salmon carpaccio. It melted in my mouth and the citrus with the truffle oil was a good combination. There is a single bathroom that was kept clean so that’s good. And the food came out quick. The sesame cheese cake sounded good and different, it was pretty dense and it wasn’t amazing but still good. They drizzled maraschino cherry juice over it which doesn’t really go with black sesame. I made a reservation through google but apparently that doesn’t do anything, I told the waiter and he said they don’t take reservations. It wasn’t too bust at 6:00 on a Friday night. It is a small place with about 10 tables.
Downsides were the prices and the floor was very very slippery coming in. It was raining outside so it was soaking wet and I almost slipped and fell multiple times. Someone should mop the floor when it rains.

Good sushi at good price. I only had takeout sushi. Restaurant seemed nice. I may try dine in another time.

The standout was the service, from making the reservation on the phone, to seating our large group, being patient with our ordering and serving really delicious food so graciously. Dishes were moderately priced and it felt like excellent value for money. A standout experience in the city.

Cucumber salad, spicy tuna roll, tuna avocado maki roll and Niki Udon. All very good. We went on off hours and service was fast and place was quiet for NYC. Pictures tell the story. Try them out!

Had a great lunch here. We got the salmon katsu bento box, shoyu ramen, and a bunch of different rolls. My favorite was the number 6 signature maki!!

We’ve been meaning to try this place for two years, and of course we finally do just as we’re about to move out. If we were staying, this would’ve been a new weekly place for us. So, so delicious—we went twice in three days. Best were probably the tuna crispy rice and the omakase. Spicy crab avocado crunch was so good that I ordered it both times. Tempura shrimp was even better. Service is great, if the teensiest bit slow when they get busy, because it’s such a small place. Absolutely worth a bit of a wait. Definitely recommend.
