Social Profile:

Extraordinary experience at La Brouette this evening. My wife and I really enjoyed our meals. The filet mignon starter set the tone of tasty food and it was followed by very tasty smoked trout. We opted for the white chocolate mousse desert which was very good. Friendly service was also a plus. We couldn’t eat outside because of the rain but enjoyed dining in front of the fire. The view of Saint Paul from the patio was great despite the rainy weather. On a nice day it would be stunning. Considering the quality of the food, the cost was a great value.

We came here twice during our family holidays 15 years ago and wanted to come back today for dinner. Well nothing else to say than that we look forward coming back again. No doubt we’ll do so next time we’ll be around! Exquisite and authentic food, place and people. Do not miss :))))

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The prix fixe menu included an array of 4 appetizers (small portions of each), an entre and a dessert for 35 euros. There were also other prix fixe options for 25 and 30 euros.

The setting was beautiful; we ate outdoors with a beautiful view.

But the service was the most special part. The owner and family are the nicest people. Seriously.

I got a flat tire on the way to the restaurant on my rental car and was able to pull over just at the top of the driveway to the restaurant. The owner’s son, Erik, came out to help me and he changed the tire for me. He gets good karma points for life.

Incredible people, food and environment. You should definitely go!

It is a place with nice view and garden but very very dated and unfortunately dusty.
The owner it’s a nice person, friendly and he’s doing all the jobs in the kitchen and service on the table.
It’s shame because with a little bit of money but hard work this place can be spot on.
Food was good.

The place itself was nice, though a little dusty and dated. The entré and mains were not great. The dessert was nice. The owner was a nice man and really wish the food had been better.

Lunch here was one of the highlights of our first trip out of Italy in two years. We knew we’d arrived somewhere extraordinary from the moment we stepped through the door. What we planned as a quick stop turned into three leisurely and delicious courses.

I love a restaurant with the confidence to serve a small and simple menu. La Brouette is one such. Four entrees, three plats, four desserts. It’s more than enough if you know what you’re doing. The herring came in the most beautifully balanced marinade. The salmon was full of dill and served with lots of sour cream. And the trout smoked on the fire was the best thing I have eaten in ages. We also loved the beautiful handmade potato crisps served with the aperitif.

I would go far out of my way to pass through Vence in order to eat here. La Brouette is a truly wonderful restaurant.

The hidden gem of Saint Paul de Vence. The place is really charming and from my point of view if you are in the area, you shouldn’t miss it. From what I have seen you can only order complete menus, not a la carte, but the choices are delicious – a combination of Danish/French cuisine. I recommend the smoked trout, it’s just wonderful. We were there in a group and we didn’t even realized when the time has passed, we really enjoyed every minute of our stay. Looking forward for a next visit. Thank you!

The past reviews were quite misleading. The location and set up are really cute with a nice view on st paul de vence, the restaurant is quite rustic and is perfect for a romantic night, the service was very friendly but quite slow and not perfect. You need to chose from 2 menus which contain the same basically. The dishes are danish. I thought it would be danish specialities but with some fusion with french cuisine. Overall we were quite disappointed it was quite simple and average taste. The owner strongly directed us to chose dishes that he had in stock. Some tables and ourselves did not get one of the dish and we were asked to eat another fishy marinated dish without any discount on the bill. The portions are big so beware to let some space when the mains arrive. I would not necessarily recommend it to my friends. But if you tried all the good restaurants around and that you want some change and are not afraid to eat basic smoked or marinated fish then this is your place.

I dined here with my girlfriend in July 2012 — the food was incredible (every course of it), the wine was outstanding (we finished two bottles), and the view of St Paul-de-Vence at sunset was divine.

Parking is very limited (and you need a reservation, so plan ahead), and the ramp from the road down to the parking area is so steep we very nearly had to stay there (or call for professional assistance). But that just made the trip that much more memorable.

Easily the best meal — food and experience combined — of my life.
