I come here when I visit and always order the fajitas. Huge portion – I always have leftovers. Service is great, food served hot. I’m from CA and appreciate good Mexican food, and for such a small little town, this place always pleasantly surprises me.

We were wow’ed by this place on a number of levels. The staff was friendly and talkative, we felt welcomed instantly. The prices are awesome, 7 people are for under $50. And if you are unsure of what to order, get the broasted chicken, you won’t be disappointed. Overall, we’re planning to make this a regular stop when we’re driving through.

I believe there are just too many orders in the menu and they lack on how to actually make them. They should just do what they can because all my food was flavourless. I don’t know if they used fresh meat or not, but the meat was simply lacking in flavor. They serve your food with tortillas made of flour, instead of of corn tortilla. Honestly, a big place like this should make their own tortillas. Food quality was at best a 2.5/5 in terms of flavor.
Service? It was quite the mess. There is a guy there that does not understand english very much, and that’s okay, no shame in that, but he can’t actually take orders like that. Like I said, if there were less on the menu then there wouldn’t be a problem, but there is simply too much and the guy has to know what comes with it and what doesn’t which waiter lacked knowledge of.
I was honestly very excited to dine in here, and got meself a Molcajete because my friends said they got a molcajete and complained that it was plain and simple and not very well made, so I decided to try it and I was disappointed that my friends were right. Food was lacking in flavor, meat was too dry, chicken was to dry, it wasn’t juicy and delicious, but plain and simple. For the price, I believe they just charge me the use of the molcajete, the spicy sauce was actually pretty good.
We also ordered some things to go and when we got home, food was not exactly what we ordered. Like we order Grilled Chicken but they added some extra sauce or cream.
As I said, cooks should focus on perfecting their meals and restaurant shouldn’t have that many dishes and eliminate the ones they never asked for cause I doubt they are all ordered there. People go mostly for the grilled stuff which they should learn how to leave prepare so that the meat soaks in the flavor.
Could be better, I entered excited, and left disappointed. My mother said, she is full but not satisfied with the food and service. I even saw people waiting for their things for a long time and bring out the wrong food or missing things from the plate. I’ve gone to other mexican restaurants and el molcajete is served with some rice and beans, but I was only served the molcajete. I was also not going to order extra food when the molcajete alone was already pricey for what it had.
Anyways, first time there and probably, even last. We hispanic people know what flavor is, and we know when the food is lacking and I believe for a mexican/hispanic restaurant, it’s lacking on its flavor and cuisine.
So, this is my honest review. I could update it if I hear the restaurant got better but as far as my visit to this place goes, it lacked a lot. Perhaps, overtime they would get better, which I hope, because it’s a pretty big restaurant.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They had a buffet with crab legs, shrimp and other things that were really delicious. I was actually quite impressed by the buffet. They also have a menu you can order from. They have American food and Mexican. My family and I really enjoyed eating here and would definitely come back again.

Cronks has always been a wonderful place to eat. When my children were little, we had family dinners there after special events. We returned to Cronks, after new ownership took over because we heard of the All You Can Eat Crablegs. My son was very excited as he had been wanting crab for a few months. The buffet room is bare. No decor, wide open. Atmosphere is poor. The crab legs had very little crab in them. The rest of the buffet was poor in taste. The best thing was frozen garlic toast. We had a group of 6 and three ended up not eating. $25 per plate made for an expensive night, especially when we had to go to Pizza Ranch to fill our tummies. Maybe the dine in side is better but we will not be returning. Our waitress even felt bad. She was sweet and did a great job.

Great old school cafe style restaurant, sit at the counter or grab a booth. Ribeye or New York strip steaks cooked the way you want it. Many Spanish dishes also. They also have a large breakfast menu too. Fast and friendly service. Excellent food at fantastic prices.

this place, despite being a café, doesn’t have a lot of breakfast options, which i was fine with. the waffle i had wasn’t great by any means, but it wasn’t bad either. the staff weren’t all stars, but they did fine.
went there for dinner, and the food was MUCH better. the chips, salsa, and queso were absolutely amazing. the food i had was very good. UNFORTUNATELY, i ended up getting food poisoning and got extremely sick.

I really wanted this to be a good dining experience. The first time I ate at Cronks was probably 1973. It’s currently under different ownership and is more Mexican, Tex-Mex, and American. The spice that they used on the chicken, I can’t identify, but it wasn’t very good. The fajita had was very heavy on peppers and onions. A lot of the vegetables and meat with the fajita was burnt and stuck to the bottom of the serving pan. That is $40. I wish I had back, and I will not spend another $40 there. The server did a great job!
