If you’re looking for a spot that offers more than just ayce sushi, Toryumon is the spot for you!

We came at a peak dinner time so it did get a little crowded, luckily they take reservations so highly recommended! While we were there multiple larger parties arrived so it does look like they can handle the larger crowds. We were seated closer to the sushi bar/kitchen area but it appeared that there was a larger dining area on the other end of the restaurant.

Food wise, i highly recommend the sweet shrimp and scallop sushi! The pieces melted like butter and tasted so creamy! The rice quantity is on the bigger side as well as the portions so be careful when ordering. The ramen was also a hit along with the aged tofu! Those were my top favorites!!

Service was decent! Nothing over the top, our server checked in a few times, and the overall service wasn’t too slow given the crowd. There is no dedicated parking lot so street parking is it for this area. However, we parked in a garage and it was about a 5–7 min walk so not bad if that’s the route you want to go.

Toryumon Japanese House is a great spot for Japanese food and sushi. The Beef Curry and Chicken Katsu Don were both very good — flavorful and nicely portioned.

Food service was quick, and the staff were attentive throughout the meal, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

The atmosphere is cozy yet modern, good for a casual night out or a small gathering. Prices are fair for the quality and portion. Overall, a reliable choice for tasty Japanese dishes and attentive service.

Food is 4/5 due to non-sushi entrees being a little bland, but the sushi is 5/5.
Service was kind and professional.
Atmosphere was good, but didn’t have that “wow” factor.

We got the all you can eat (AYCA) for $35/person, and I feel like it was reasonably priced. The sushi menu had a good variety on it. There were also other food options like ramen and hibachi included, which was a nice touch.

I think the standout dishes to me were the mochi desserts, which were 5/5. Also the ramen and other entree foods in the AYCA were full-sized, which was surprising but also nice in case you’re not feeling sushi (but they also fill you up).

Service was at a good pace and there wasn’t really a time where I had to wait to place my next order. Servers were all professional.

Definitely recommend making a reservation as the staff was very helpful and flexible with the times and it can get busy.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Do Not Go Here!!!
The food is extremely mediocre, and the prices are way too high for the quality you get. Honestly, the whole experience was disappointing from the start. I should have taken the hint when I walked in and saw that the place was completely empty usually that’s a sign, and in this case it definitely was.

The food lacked flavor and felt like something you could get anywhere else for half the price, if not better. Nothing about the meal stood out in a positive way, especially considering how much they charge. For what we paid, I expected much better quality and presentation.

The service was just okay at best, and we barely interacted with the server throughout the meal. Despite that, they automatically added gratuity to the bill, which felt completely unreasonable given the minimal service we received. Being charged $25 for a tip when the service was basic and the food was disappointing made the whole experience even more frustrating.
Overall, the food, the pricing, and the automatic gratuity made this place not worth it at all. There are plenty of other restaurants where you can get better food, better service, and much better value for your money. I definitely would not recommend coming here.

Great selection, plenty of seating, quick service, and easy to access location. I had the Spicy Girl and Rising Sun rolls, both were great. And strawberry dessert.

Was pretty bummed with our experience here. We ordered the pink lady sushi roll and king of sea, and both rolls seemed like they didn’t have fresh ingredients. The flavor profile was also dull.

The presentation was nice. The shrimp used in the Pink Lady seemed tough and not fresh, and the King of sea was pretty, but the dried chips seemed stale and didn’t have any flavor so all it really did was add a crunchy texture to the roll. The Unagi on top also seemed over cooked.

Maybe we just ordered the wrong rolls?

The soy sauce was also insanely overly salty and had a strange fish taste with it, (was not the sushi). I’ve had enough sushi in my life to know something was off here.

Needless to say, a second trip is not in our future to this restaurant.

(If u are a GW student, u can use your dining dollar, too!) Loved the ramen … i visited Japan 3 times and this ramen was the best, even better than the one i had in Japan Im not a fan of donkotsu ramen, but this Tokyo ramen was sooooo good! My friend had a spicy one ($16, original is $15) and the soup was good, too! It tasted like a spicy peanut based soup
The roll was not bad, but it was not filling haha. Maybe next time i will try okonomiyaki instead . Would definitely come back again !!!!
‼️UPDATE FOR 2nd VISIT‼️ : i love this place… this time i tried miso ramen, okonomiyaki&beer.
OMG I LOVED OKONOMIYAKI SO MUCHHHH!! I missed this taste
For miso ramen, honestly i didnt like it.. it was too salty for me 🙁 Just try tokyo ramen cause that was is so good haha

Absolutely fantastic all you can eat with incredible quality and ambiance. I am a frequent visitor to sushi Ohayo, another all you can eat sushi place and after eating at toryumon, it is evident this establishment values presentation and freshness and efficiency. Our waitress was timely and friendly, many options to choose from. I highly recommend adding on the unlimited sashimi for $7. Will most definitely be returning! $41 for 90 min of unlimited food is unbeatable.

The food was decent but nothing exceptional. The ramen, sushi, and hibachi were all just okay, lacking standout flavors. However, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience more enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating a pleasant dining environment. Overall, it was a good place to visit for the ambiance and service, but the food could have been better.

The service was excellent and the sushi was out of this world. The meat was fresh, the grilled meat was outstanding, the wasabi fries are a must, you will order a second one. Many rolls and options to choose, bring friends as it is a great spot. Go down the stairs and it is right in front. Going here next time we visit DC.
