Rocking a trendy, hipster vibe, Poco’s exterior and interior are attractive and inviting. The intimate seating area is tastefully decorated with books on various culinary topics, and Global music plays at a volume that permits conversation at a comfortable level. My wife and I enjoyed the shared dining experience, which Poco describes on their website: “Our menu is crafted for shared dining, inviting guests to order multiple plates to enjoy together at the table instead of individual meals.” Our server had a bit of an attitude at first, but ended up adapting our dishes to a vegan diet. First to arrive was a plate of four falafels sitting on a schmear of apricot jam and garnished with sprouts. Unlike traditional falafel these concave dollops had a light, almost whipped consistency and were not as satiating. I appreciated the subtle taste of lemon, but missed the signature chickpea flavor. I also had to go easy on the jam as it was cloyingly sweet. Next out were the roasted mushrooms. I thought this dish had a lot of potential—the Shiitake and Oyster shrooms were prepared and cooked in way that gave them the consistency of tender steak strips, the sesame seeds added additional dimension to the taste, and the choice of plain white rice left plenty of room to showcase the flavor of the primary ingredients; however, the teriyaki sauce was overpowering and salty. I thought the grilled carrots that followed the mushrooms were the most innovative dish and the most balanced in terms of flavor. These were served over a bed of hearty pesto and crushed pistachios with a zesty lemon zing and garnished with sprouts and mint leaves. Our final dish was the smashed fingerlings, which were crispy, oily, and salty. Given the enjoyable atmosphere, once Poco has their recipes dialed in they will be firing on all cylinders.

What an amazing gem in downtown Burlington. If you want to do shared plates by yourself or of course shared with a friend or two this is the spot. Every dish was flavored to perfection. The cocktails are well thawed out and delicious. The servers are friendly and the service is quick. They bring out the dishes as they are ready. Be prepared to order anywhere from 3 to 5 plates if you’re sharing with one to two people. We enjoyed the mushroom dish, the wings, the artichokes, the fingerling potatoes, and the scallops and linguine. Zero complaints about any of them, but I will say my favorite were the mushrooms and the wings. Also enjoyed a mocktail and cocktail, Jonathan was an amazing bartender and provided great recommendations overall. Highly recommend and will return.

We heard great things about Poco and our expectations were met!
Poco accepts walk-ins only. We put our name down and had just enough time for a pre-dinner cocktail at Devil Takes a Holiday- but that’s another review 🙂
Our table was ready as promised. Poco’s menu features shared plates and our server recommends 2-3 per person. We ordered 4 dishes for our party of 2 and it was just the right amount.
My favorite was the Tuna Tataki, but we enjoyed everything we ordered including Chickpea salad, Gnocchi caprese salad, and linguini with scallops. I highly recommend this cozy restaurant and hope to return! Free street parking after 6 pm- keep it in mind 🙂

Worth whatever wait it takes! This relaxed, friendly, cozy place has terrific food that makes you forget whatever wait you had. I believe the menu changes, so be prepared for something new when you go in. I started with the Crispy Duck Leg which was prepared in a way to make the meat very mild. The meat inside was fall off the bone tender, while the skin was, as advertised, nice and crispy with a delicious savory seasoning. The accompanying mixed greens complemented it very nicely, being fresh sweet and tangy.
Next was the Grilled Shrimp Satay – another amazing dish with perfectly cooked shrimp (not chewy or rubbery, cooked correctly to allow the shrimp to still be tender). Each shrimp was nicely seasoned in lemon fish sauce marinade, then they took turns with slices of mango, julienned carrots, and ginger for another set of excellent complementary flavors.
The Orange Blossoms mocktail was surprisingly flavorful, with each flavor being present without any overpowering the other – it was light, refreshing, and very satisfying.
The grand finale was the cinnamon ice cream – WOW! I had no idea cinnamon ice cream could taste that good! They are excellent at making ice cream smooth and creamy, and the flavor was hard to describe because it was boldly cinnamon without being hot and spicy. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The service was very friendly and quick even though they were very busy – they seemed to thrive on it!
The atmosphere is tastefully done with a nice array of different books, pictures, and a few odds and ends in nooks and crannies.
The seating is “cozy” so be prepared to scoot in now and then, but it’s not cramped or uncomfortable.
This is certainly the best meal I’ve had while in Burlington. I hope to make it back here and try it again!

The food we received was absolutely delicious. However, 3/4 of us got our entrees and the other person was left waiting for over 25 minutes after our entree arrived. She ordered a burger and about 25 minutes after the rest of the table received and ate our order, hers arrived. It was too large of a time discrepancy. Strange that an individual was left waiting that long for their food after we were served.

The first time I went here, I had a really great experience and the food was delicious. My friends and I got takeout from here and the burgers were completely undercooked. We like a rare burger, but this was raw and made two of us physically sick. I think this is a really great restaurant and this was an anomaly, however, I will not soon forget how sick I was.

Poco has fantastic food—no doubt about it. We ordered three dishes between the two of us, plus a couple of cocktails, and everything was spot on in terms of flavor and presentation. However, the service didn’t quite match the food. Our server rarely checked in, and we ran out of water halfway through the meal. I do appreciate that they’re dog-friendly, but with so many great options nearby, I’m not sure Poco stands out enough to bring me back. Great food, but the overall experience fell short.

Highly recommend! Two of us split 5 shareable plates. The dishes were creative and everything we had was fantastic. Lots of options were pescatarian/vegetarian friendly. Space was small, but we put our names in around 5:30PM on a Thurs and was only a 45 minute wait. Perfect to grab a drink nearby before dinner. Staff was excellent as well.

We spun the, ‘Burlington restaurants we haven’t tried yet’ globe and landed on Poco this evening. Our group of four arrived just after six on a lovely evening and got a table inside right away. It is a petite place to be sure and even the four top table was quite a squeeze, but the decor is chill and a little funky. The music was ungodly loud – a good selection, but we were raising our voices the entire evening just to have conversation within a foot of each other. The prices were Burlington prices, honestly. Not every dish was worth the cost, but no dish disappointed and some thoroughly delighted. The serving size for a shared plate could be a little more generous: four meatballs is cool, but a cup’s worth of Caesar salad for $16 was a bit over the top (LOVED the chicken skin though).
We went hard on the meatballs and halloumi (everyone’s favorite dish of the night) to start. The elote fritters were very tasty but quite dry. The shishito peppers were delicious and super smoky and the tuna was very brightly flavored and perfectly seared. All in all, a good experience and a great way to try some high impact bites. All of us agreed we were still hungry after six dishes, though I did come *very* hungry. Stop by to delight your pallette, but maybe have a snack beforehand. Our waiter was very chill and courteous and the opposite of pushy when we apologized for taking our time.

We had a delightful dinner at Poco last night – lovely service, well-balanced cocktails, and delicious shareable plates of food, in a hip and relaxed atmosphere. Easily the best meal we had during our short stay in Burlington. Highly recommended!!
