Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a clean and well-kept spot with friendly staff that do their best to keep things moving smoothly. A large portion of their business comes from online and app orders, so if you walk in during a rush, it’s worth placing your order digitally to save time. There are two entrances one facing the street and another in the back. Just be aware that parking in the rear is extremely limited, so your best bet is to park across the street. All in all, it’s a convenient spot for a quick, refreshing bite or smoothie especially if you plan ahead.

I’ve been there three times this week, and the salad is being served with spoiled spinach. The first time, I thought it was just a cook’s mistake. The second time, I had to go back to the store to get my salad replaced. Today, the salad is served with spoiled spinach again. Very bad!

Not sure who made my food today but I ordered a chicken chipotle flatbread with no tomato and it came out so immaculate I had to do a little photoshoot. the employee who gave me my food also said i had pretty hair and they gave me a warm smile(they had colorful hair), def coming back here! sorry i didn’t tip i had to budget to get the sandwich in the first place ;(

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ — Fresh and Tasty with a Friendly Vibe
My family and I had a great visit to Tropical Smoothie in East Lansing. The smoothies were fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet—perfect for a light, refreshing treat. Everyone enjoyed theirs, and it was nice to see a good variety of options to choose from.
I went with a veggie wrap, and it was excellent. The vegetables were crisp, the wrap was soft, and everything tasted fresh and well put together. It felt like a healthy choice without sacrificing flavor.
The staff was friendly and quick, and the place had a clean, upbeat atmosphere. The only reason I’m giving 4.5 instead of 5 stars is because it’s still a casual spot, but for what it is, they do it really well.
We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

This was my third time ordering from the Trop Smoothie off of Michigan Avenue and it will likely be my last. After ordering a chicken chipotle club and biting into the flatbread, I was greeted by a mushy, stringy sensation. It turns out I had been given near uncooked/raw bacon. I gagged and nearly threw up when I discovered the issue. After obtaining a refund for just this sandwich (I ordered other items) through DoorDash, I drove to the restaurant to make staff aware of the food quality issue. Once there, I spoke to a “manager” on staff who simply looked at my order in hand and told me “that’s not good, would you like your receipt back?” No offer was made to assist me in any way at the restaurant and zero care was shown to offer me any additional discounts/benefits/anything to show you cared. Hell, chick-fil-a just awarded me two free meals for missing one item in my order. This was anything, but satisfactory customer service.

Okay, first, the place was small but longgggg!! But, who cares? I love smoothies AND tropical smoothie cafe! So i got a Blimey Limey that was Delicious, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was good, but really crumbly. Would recommend!

Walked in on a Tuesday at 3:00pm. A lady in front of me had a decent size order. I just ordered a smoothie. Paid, the 2 girls behind the counter seemed annoyed both of us were there. It was so slow but okay. A black girl came in behind me, ordered a smoothie. The girl making smoothies put mine in the blender as it went everywhere l, literally blew up. But she couldn’t do anything about it because she wanted to get the girl behind me smoothie done right away. She hands the customer after me her smoothie goes to mine and decides to start over. We are now on 9 minutes. I said “forget about it, please just give me a refund”. The girl goes and punches refund of $8.53 (I paid cash) the girl says “how much did you give me? Really? These are college kids and she can’t do simple refund. I said what does it matter what I gave you? You owe me $8.53 which I paid you. She said “oh, yeah I guess that’s right?” I will never go back until this reverse racism stops. It’s bad service if you are white there. Beware.
