Reviews
This review is NOT intended to destroy this business. This restaurant serves it’s purpose with low prices and a 1970’s food menu. Even the walls and ceilings had the cheap 1970’s wood paneling. Yes…the ceiling too. I have to admit that the restaurant was cleaner than what you would expect with this type of decor. To be honest, it was like a time warp going back to when I was a teenager going to dinner with my parents.
I had a 12oz Ribeye dinner. The Ribeye was definitely frozen and then recently thawed. There was no taste at all…it was simply on the plate. Now, I understood why the waiter brought A1 and Heinz 57 sauce before the steak came out. Yes, I tried both to add flavor to the steak. It didn’t help much! The baked potato was cooked perfect but was a little small. It was definitely the highlight on my plate. The dinner came with Cole Slaw and “marble sized” hush puppies. The Cole Slaw was served in a small plastic cup sitting on the plate. The taste was “ok” but was a little watery. The hushpuppies were perfectly round like a marble, so I am sure they weren’t homemade. They were cooked perfectly but the taste was what you expect for hushpuppies.
My wife’s plate had two Flounder filets with a large pile of frozen and breaded “baby” (cocktail shrimp) and frozen crinkle cut fries. She said the fish was good but only ate a few shrimp. Again…nothing to write about.
To end…if you are an older senior citizen and want to remember the typical 1970’s inexpensive no frills restaurant then this is your place.

This place is great… Dinner is always great. The server had a lot going on but her son jumped in and helped her out. Food was Awesome as Always!
From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the inside is spacious and clean with an authentic atmosphere. I will be going back for sure. If you like fish I highly recommend it. I look forward to trying the steak next time.
She recommended I take home a desert, I was hooked with the “Homemade Apple strudel cheesecake”.So YUM!
This place knows how to serve up a ding dong dish & desert! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I highly recommend Coach Fish House. I can’t wait to bring my family & friends.
Hubby ordered the catfish special, which was fine- nothing special.
I ordered a Greek salad with boiled shrimp. When I see boiled shrimp as an option, I guess our time in NOLA has trained my brain to expect boiled fresh shrimp. Needless to say, that is not what I got. I got chopped iceberg, a small amount of slices cucumber, a couple of black olives, generous feta (which may or may not have been fresh) and what felt like an entire bag of previously frozen mini shrimp that covered the entire salad. Oh, plus a side of Italian dressing. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!
We wondered why no one ever mentioned going here. The place was filled with utility workers in their reflective vests, who I’m sure knew to order the catfish and most likely are not salad connoisseurs- just saying.
Like I said earlier, the atmosphere sets the tone for some good home cooking – they should not offer the Greek salad as an option, in my opinion / especially at the price of $15
One and done – we won’t be back.
