Hole in the wall, but don’t overlook it like I did. I have been living around the corner for years, drove by countless times and always thought it was just another dive bar. Then I started hearing rumors that they serve the best Portuguese food around.
Tonight I finally verified that. I knew they served hard to find seafood favorites, and I was counting the minutes till trying the grilled octopus. And wow. One of the best things I have had in recent memory.
The flaming chorizo, also out of this world good.
Fiance got garlic steak and eggs. The sauce and soft homemade style “fries”, I couldn’t help but keep stealing from him.
Salted cod (bacalao), amazing, but very rich. Not a bad thing at all! but after everything else this will be lunch tomorrow.
Monica was so kind. Service is a little slow but it’s a small family feel joint. When she made it over she made us feel us feel so at home the wait was no issue. Food was promptly delivered even if some patience to get your order in.
We then finished with a Pastel de nata each, and I promptly ascended to heaven. This might have been better than when I ate these pastries in Portugal itself.
Only complaint the bathroom is freezing lol
However I will be back no questions asked. Best food I’ve had out in a long time.

It’s a quaint corner lot restraunt and bar of the BEST authentic Portuguese food from different meats to seafood cuisine. You can dress casual for lunch/dinner or dine in your best evening attire. Great Portuguese wine selection and servers are knowledgeable of which will be the best to match with your appetizers, entrees or sweet ending. Prices are always fair for the amount on your plates, and desserts are authentic to fulfill your sweet tooth. Monica rules the tables with a flair for each of your course meal. The outside may look small, yet the food is grand! Parking is on street on the side of building or a few spaces reserved for their customers.

Ai ai ai! Amazing experience! Such a quaint and homelike environment makes for a very cozy feel that is very welcoming! The service was impeccable, Sandra was muito bem! Not only that, but a great local place for amazing Portuguese food! It felt like I was sitting in a local restaurant in the heart of Santa Maria! I highly recommend the goat trees and pimp, the sauce is perfect, and great for dipping the pão! The bread baskets just kept coming! #Yum! Also be sure to try the wings with Portuguese sauce. More like awesome sauce! Perfect restaurant! See you at Trackside!

A small hole in the wall with 20 tables and a big bar, serves delicious authentic Portugese food . Whether it’s Paella, seafood stew or octopus salad, the food is hot, fresh and excellent. The place is very compact and the tables are close together. The kitchen is small and be prepared for an extended wait for your food.
Parking is tough, but if you can get over these obstacles, it’s well worth the trip. I have been there a number of times and recommend it.

You walk in and immediately want to stay forever. We honored our dearest Avoh here for her celebration of life and the people, service, food and energy were everything to us. The space is cozy and warm. The food beautifully authentic and thoughtfully prepared. The people who work there are generous, hard working and kind. Thank you more than words, you made the experience beautiful and joyful.

100 % PHENOMENAL!!!! Again, my husband and I were fortunate to get the last two remaining bar stools. (we got there at 5:45 pm). The bar is quaint-only seats nine and the restaurant area is also small and cozy and completely full. Sheena was our bartender who made an excellent espresso martini and Cosmo. We started with their grilled octopus appetizer which was fresh and tender. I had their fried rabbit special and Michael had their haddock casserole which had shrimp and scallops in it. Our entrees came with two sides-I chose the garden salad and vegetable medley (carrots/broccoli) and my husband had their homemade potato chips which were awesome! All dishes were reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

This little hole in the wall restaurant is 5 stars. The food is amazing. I have had lunch there now a few times & everything is Exquisite! The fish is so fresh & delicious, I love the halibut with garlic butter & the fresh vegetable’s. The steamed clams literally melt in your mouth & pop with flavor. The old Portuguese vibe is so welcoming & everyone is so friendly. Monica is an excellent bartender & always super attentive & efficient. If you haven’t enjoyed a meal here yet, you are missing out.

Really enjoyed the food here. The clams were very fresh would highly recommend it. The octopus app was also well done. The tuna was cooked perfectly and also extremely fresh. I got the seafood stew, it had great flavor but the ingredients were mostly long frozen ingredients and you could taste it. Still the broth had a great depth of flavor.

First timer who will return again! Arrived on a Friday night around 5:45 or so, was told it would be a 30-minute wait and it was about that, maybe a tad bit longer, so we waited outside on the sidewalk, as there was no space at the bar. But, worth the wait! There may be about 10 four-tops in the dining space and off to the side, a small bar that maybe seats 10-12? We were seated and ordered an appetizer, which was a fresh deli meat and cheese and pickled cauliflower and roasted red pepper—delicious! For dinner I had the seafood stew with potatoes and it was sooooo good. Monica was a friendly, efficient server. My only complaint pertains to my own hyperawareness, for as we dined and enjoyed dessert—capachino and flan—there was a party of four—likely “regulars”—who were seated/standing at the bar and kept scanning the dining room again and again over the course of our hour-and-a-half there, which made me feel as if I were being watched and rushed. As a visitor to the area and someone who has 0% Portuguese in my DNA, that made me feel a tad bit awkward, but that is not at fault of the owner or manager. That experience wouldn’t stop me from visiting again!
