The entire buffet is very good: stewed tomatoes, baked beans, fried potatoes, home made chips, 3 kinds of fish, fried chicken, hush puppies.

Make plans and take that detour to this place and order yourself a suoe4 delicious meal! I had their “Roast Beef/Ham/Cheese” poboy. It was juicy, flavorful, and down-right amazing! The Ham wasn’t some plain tasteless type. It had a smokey taste which added to the flavor profile. My wife had a Shrimp poboy which was delicious. I tried a bite so, yeah. She ordered a rootbeer float and I was persuaded to try their “John Folse Creole Cheesecake” with blueberries. My only regret was not coming here sooner!

This is a great spot for some local seafood. It has a comfy old school vibe with authentic and delicious seafood options like po boys. The decor is rustic and cool. The staff were very friendly and service was great. We ordered an 18 inch stuffed shrimp po boy and cheese fries. The po boy is massive, more than enough for two people maybe even three people. They were both very tasty and fresh. The pricing is great, really good value for the food and service. Highly recommend!!

The food was good, the waitress was amazing, the only thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth was the elderly lady sitting in the corner. I assume shes the owner. My husband was at the counter paying and placing a to go order. He was making small talk with the waitress while she rang him up. The lady in the corner yelled at the girl from across the room to take someone’s order that had just sat down. Like obviously shes already busy with another customer. Just felt it kind of rude while this girl is working her tail off to yell at her like that, not to meantion hes literally standing at the counter with his card out to pay for our meal.

St. Rose Tavern is a great spot with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. This multi-generation, family-owned restaurant has a rich history, with Amanda now taking the reins in running the business from her mother. After visiting Destrehan Plantation, our tour guide Allen highly recommended St. Rose Tavern for its po’boy sandwiches, and it did not disappoint. The roast beef po’boys are especially delicious, full of flavor, and generously portioned. The staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for good food and a laid-back atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Surprising hole in the wall with great poor boys. Service at lunch is a little slow if they’re slammed but the food….. it’s very very good. Big sandwiches, large portions. Try the roast beef, ham & cheese poorboy and their corn nuggets.

The bartender was super super friendly and attentive. The appetizers were all frozen, total bummer. Like boo! The Po’boys were elegant but needed more sauce and moisture. 5/10 for food, 10/10 for the beer tender!

If you’re nearby, especially at the Destrehan Plantation or on the way back to New Orleans from Whitney Plantation, you must stop by and visit Amanda to get a roast beef po’boy! She is so hospitable and the sandwich was just fantastic. She, along with her patrons, are a model for southern hospitality.
