As a professional food safety auditor I have to say this was the worse experience I’ve experienced in a restaurant. I odered a meat loaf mash potatoes with vegetables. And got meat that was not properly cooked mashed potatoes that were over heated in microwave and corn that looked stale. I am not a fan of having to report restaurants for their horrible food. But I am sure that this will help you better your service to the public. Food should be freshly cooked on a regular basis. Not heated in microwaves and served like it was just cooked, because customers are not paying for old dry and badly prepared meals. They are paying for food that taste good and deserve to be respected at the time of there oder being placed. The owner was very responsible and did not charge me for the horrible experience that I had. But the problem is still there!!! So we need to fix details and make sure employees are aware of the problem they can bring our restaurant if the health department popped up or health inspectors. We must always be aware of the outcome of every situation because we never know who is eating in our restaurants. Thank you to the waitress who helped out with everything she could to make us feel comfortable. She deserves a raise because even she knew exactly what was wrong without us having to tell her. If you are looking for a secure place to eat this is not the restaurant. I don’t recommend it to you or to anyone. Until further investigation.

If you’re looking for a welcoming, no-frills breakfast spot in Trenton, Ramsey’s Family Restaurant & Coney Island delivers a classic diner experience that feels like a warm morning hello. Tucked along West Jefferson Avenue, this locally beloved restaurant has a cozy, family-run vibe that makes it an ideal stop for everything from a quick bite to a lingering breakfast with friends or family.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels familiar — locals chatting over coffee, friendly servers checking in often, and the comforting aroma of breakfast classics being cooked to order. The service earns high marks for being attentive and efficient, with plates arriving promptly and coffee cups rarely running dry.

What stands out most is the food quality and flavor. Whether you opt for a hearty omelet, perfectly cooked eggs, or a plate stacked with your favorite breakfast sides, Ramsey’s delivers satisfying comfort food without pretension. Many diners specifically praise their breakfast offerings, noting generous portions and well-prepared dishes that hit the spot.

The prices are reasonable, especially for the down-to-earth portions you get, and the overall experience feels like one you’d expect from a true neighborhood diner. It is the quintessential Downriver breakfast experience — familiar, filling, and friendly.

The kind of place where even my storybook taste testers Salz & Peppa would approve of the menu.

The food was good. We had omelets and hash browns. I had a Western omelet and it was good, except the ham was a bit fatty.
