At our Madison, IN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This was interesting dine in 11-2 after that carry out. The food was fresh the corn on the cob was over cooked. The breaded shrimp was alright for deep fried. Mac and cheese was defiantly cheesy. Empty restaurant except for the crew. seafood feast combo they did alright

The food was good but it was carryout only. Dining room is only open 11-2 for dine in otherwise its carryout. Covid was the excuse even though nobody working there was wearing a mask and didn’t seem to care to. Doesn’t make any sense. Cut hours due to Covid, but employees not wearing masks to protect anyone.

I got the two piece fish combo with two sides. The okra was amazing as always but the fish definitely didn’t taste like fish nor did it have the texture of fish. My father got the giant fish combo.He said his didn’t taste like fish either and the texture was also not that of fish. We both actually thought we were eating chicken. I called the restaurant thinking they gave us chicken instead of fish and was told they changed the type of fish they get. I was very disappointed and don’t think intend on returning anytime soon

Food is pretty good for industry standard. Amanda was very rude when she took my order and Lita was even ruder. Karen seemed like she didn’t care and didn’t want to be there. Unacceptable service, but the food was good so I am essentially satisfied.

The fish, shrimp, lobster bites, fries and hush puppies were pretty good. The cole slaw tasted like it was going bad and it looked like the fountain drink machine has not been cleaned in weeks. We saw some mold and dead knats stuck to it behind the drink levers. We do not have any complaints about the service of the staff, just that they may want to be more detailed in their cleaning.

The restaurant was clean, neat and staff was polite and helpful. The food was nasty. I ordered the deluxe seafood platter. The shrimp had a bad smell to them I did not eat. The crab cakes had a cleaning solution taste. The fish was slimy and bad tasting. Cole slaw was ok. The fries were soggy.
Please be vigilant in ordering food here. I did get a sour stomach after just nibbling to try the foods.
