Had a lovely evening catching up over happy hour with a girlfriend at Verre Wine Bar. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The drinks were flowing. We indulged in their tiramisu, which was rich and velvety, and the truffle fries, which were crispy, flavorful, and addictive. A perfect spot for a relaxing night out!

Had a lovely brunch here on 3/8/26. Our server Simone was the best, super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the new menu and wines. The brisket sandwich, kale salad, and fries (fry duo) were ! My only wish is to bring the biscuits back on the menu, they are the best in Arlington

I’m not much of a wine guy, I find it acidic and somewhat harsh on the palette. I quite liked the Verde still, it was served chilled and didn’t have the harsh acidic tone that I have experienced in other wineries or restaurants.

The food is small plates: really good chicken bites and the flatbread was warm and soft. The olives were very salty.

All in all, good place if you are into wines. The selection is wide, and looks like they run offers for members.

The wine and food are great. However, it is pricey and there is a “fair wage charge” that doesn’t count toward the tip for the servers. Essentially, management is charging you for the food and drinks, then also charging you extra for paying their staff, then you also tip the staff because the management aren’t actually giving staff the money they charge you for paying the staff. It’s a common scam in the DC area these days. Usually you only see it at DC restaurants that use prop 82 as an excuse, but the scam is extending to Arlington now. It’s not the servers’ fault, so make sure you tip them.

So I wouldn’t say don’t go there, but be prepared for an expensive night out. $60 for a wine flight + charcuterie becomes $88 once you pay the ‘fair wage charge,’ county tax, and a 20% tip. That’s a lot of money for drinks at a very casual place. I could go to a restaurant nearby and spend the same for wine with a full dinner. I still go to Verre sometimes when I want to enjoy a wine tasting, but it is definitely big night out money without the big night out experience.

Verre Wine Bar offers a warm, elegant atmosphere with a well-curated wine list that caters to both experts and casual drinkers. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming, making recommendations without the pretension. Small plates like the charcuterie board and truffle fries are delicious, though slightly pricey. It’s a cozy, quiet spot — perfect for date nights or catching up with friends. Reservations are a good idea on busy nights.

I’m new to the Arlington area and have been searching for a wine bar for quite some time. That search ended recently, as I came across Verre.

I was warmly greeted and promptly presented with a menu despite a busy evening. I opted for a charcuterie board paired with the boom boom shrimp.

I was impressed with Lilly’s expertise, as she guided me through several wine recommendations, leading me to try the vino verde.

The lemon lime and green apple notes coupled with some of the best prosciutto assortment I’ve had, made me think I was on the coast of northern Portugal even in the dead of winter.

Highly recommend this place!

We were there having small bites and and drinks for my cousin’s birthday and every staff member treated us very special. The music was great, the vibe was great and the staff was great so I would go back again.

We love Verre Wine Bar—it’s one of our favorite spots in Arlington. Their $12.95 lunch special (sandwich, side, and iced tea) is the best deal in town. We’re wine club members and appreciate the flexibility of choosing just one bottle a month—perfect for us, even when many bottles become hostess gifts. Membership also includes a free sommelier tasting for you and a guest each visit.

We often bring our three daughters, and they love it too—especially in winter when the patio becomes a magical winter wonderland with make-your-own s’mores. My middle daughter even calls it her favorite restaurant. The service is always warm and friendly, and it’s a great choice for lunch, happy hour, dinner, or brunch (with delicious biscuits and mimosas).

A Hidden Gem for Wine Lovers!
Verre Wine Bar is an absolute treasure in the heart of Arlington! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and upscale — ideal for everything from date nights to catching up with friends.

What truly sets Verre apart is its exceptional selection of wine. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just beginning to explore, there’s something here for every palate. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to offer thoughtful recommendations based on your preferences. I discovered a few new favorites thanks to their expert guidance!

The food menu is also worth mentioning — perfectly curated small plates that pair beautifully with the wines. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

Service was top-notch from start to finish. Attentive but never intrusive, and always with a smile.

Highly recommend Verre Wine Bar to anyone looking for a refined yet relaxed wine experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

There is not a bad time to go, but weekday lunch is my favorite!! The chicken caprese or fig and brie sandwich with either salad is incredible. Biscuits and mimosas at brunch are unmatched. Wine club membership is also a great deal, we love the free tastings each time we dine in and always get a unique bottle to take home.
