Friendly and intimate atmosphere. Greeted warmly by server and seated within 2 minutes of walking in. Healthy portion servings. Our server checked on us several times always with a very pleasant and friendly demeanor. The price for the two of us was $31. For Japanese in Athens we will be going back to Yamato Japanese Steak House.

-MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING-:Ordered Hibachi New York Steak(don’t know why menu bothers even asking how to cook,when scant portion came in indistinguishable 1/4″ cubes)& Chicken,Beef Fried Rice(while the meat had standout flavor,it was still a somewhat hefty price tag[$11.29] for their ample heap[predominantly rice] which lacked any traditional vegetable expectance period),Mushrooms(it lists as plain as all that and ‘as a side dish’:with no further details given,though at $4.99 I was hoping they were fried;turns out this appetizer of sorts would’ve been ideal on…well,you know…one’s beef slab topping)—never ever again[amen]!!!

For a small town in Tennessee, it’s hard to find sushi, and being from the coast it’s something I’m used to having several times a week. I can’t say I really enjoy their raw dishes, there’s really just no comparison to reap fresh east or west coast sushi, but I am happy to have something close that is still good and satisfies most of my cravings. Also, I don’t like that they’re closed on Mondays, but hey, it is what it is.

I’ve only visited once. My meal was pretty average (3 stars). Service is very good (4 stars). Atmosphere was pleasant (4 stars). Overall rating, I’d give it 3.5 stars. Therefore, I rounded up to 4 stars overall.

Not recommended. We decided to try an Asian restaurant in Athens. The food quality was bad. They charged us more than the menu price. We confronted with them and they did not even say sorry. They made excuses and did not do anything with it. $13 extra for 3 pieces of scallops that sliced in half.

The service was friendly, fast and and overall, pleasant experience. Most meals come with soup and salad, which the ginger dressing is amazing!
After asking the waitress her favorite on the menu, I decided to order the bento box meal that includes chef’s choice sushi. Each one tasted fresh and was my favorite part of the meal! Unfortunately, the rice was very dry so I did not eat that.
There was several to-go orders while we ate in. I would recommend ordering the sushi, as that seems to be what they specialize in and was the best part of the meal.

Called in a take out order of onion soup and crab Rangoon, my daughter got there over 30 min later and it wasn’t ready. Finally got it and the soup is half empty and taste terrible, the crab Rangoon barley had anything in it, not just meat, hardly anything at all. We used to love this place and tell everyone to try it but we definitely won’t be returning or recommending it to anyone anymore.
