Although they do not have a salsa bar their food is pretty flavorful. Also the price is very fair.

This is not a fancy establishment with booths and table service. They have very flavorful entrees and authentic options such as their breakfast tacos and burritos with nopales (cactus). If you want pretty pictures of your food for reels… this is not the place. If yiu want hearty, delicious and a great value for what you pay, go no further.

The cashier was very rude and short with me. I ordered my food and asked for a side of pico de gallo. She said they didn’t offer sides but prepackaged tubs were available in the display refrigerator. I looked for about 5 minutes and then eventually asked her where the pico de gallo was and she shortly replied that they do not sell pico. What kind of Mexican food place doesn’t offer pico? Either way she could have told me beforehand instead of watching me search the display fridge for 5 minutes for something that she already knew wasn’t there. She was very rude and it felt like she just didn’t want to help me out. I will not be going back.

Great spot if you want some authentic quality Mexican food. I stopped in and grabbed a burrito and drink to take home. The ambiance is that of a clean kitchen and the service is very good.
They cater as well and are a popular place for the locals to grab a bite or take home. They have a few tables inside and outside.

It is a great little place for authentic Mexican food. I stopped by today and ordered a Carne Asada burrito combo with Rice, Beans, and a Drink. Very fresh and tasty. I took the food to go and enjoyed it at home. Humberto was quite helpful, and the other staff members were friendly and professional.

Unbelievable! I have lived in Mission Viejo for many years and have driven by this hole in the wall restaurant and always say that I am going to try it.
Well today I stopped in for a Machaca breakfast burrito and it was one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. The place is very clean and the kitchen is like a smooth assembly line operation with quality control at the front counter.
The menu is quite extensive and prices very reasonable. If you want some of the best Mexican food in the OC you must give the small restaurant a try. They only have a few tables and primarily deal with take out and catering.
Simply amazing highly recommended

I don’t often give 5 Star ⭐,
I have to make an exception in this case.

Portions were great.
Service was great.
Worth the price.
Order was on time for pickup.
We had a great evening, only disappointment was Canelo lost the fight.

Misson Viejo location for this small mexican food chain. When I went last I had a Daves Burrito and ordered it wet. It came in a burrito sized box that was overflowing with sauce (pics). After I poured off 2-3oz of extra sauce, the burrito was good tasting. Pico de gallo? Extra and runny… Guacamole? Priced in little cups like its gold (pics). Chips to go with the pico de gallo? Extra in bags, over salted, and in stale oil, ewww. I paid close to 15$ for a burrito, chips, drink and pico de gallo with guac… For one person??! I feel bad for the locals who have to go here. I’ve paid closer to 10$ at local carnicerias in Costa Mesa, Santa Ana or Capistrano. For some odd reason if you ask at the counter for picante sauce, they give you a chili de arbol kind of roasted sauce or tapatio. The chili de arbol sauce is free?? But there is charge for pico de gallo?? Weird… Agreed with other reviewers, the counter space and one or two chrome tables were disgusting with old food smeared on them. I did go after lunch, but staff had time to clean, they either didn’t want to or otherwise. Tables and floors made me scared to ask to use the one bathroom. There was no line and only one table in use, besides the corner of counter I was on. Credit to the staff, they could have had a huge order but they didn’t really seem to be moving. I’ve worked restaurant staff and Mgmt positions and with their open kitchen (ok, that was cool) I didn’t see much activity. One table (two?) outside crammed in next to the entrance. Shared strip mall parking between Fedex and Sherman Paints. I would not go back, in the past the place was cleaner and more of a value… I found the staff to be very short for answers and not very friendly or helpful. The food was decent, but overpriced and so not much of a value. I had a sit down table service meal that cost close to that per person today. This is casual front counter to-go service. The real deal breaker was the cleanliness. If the front of the house is that gross, how’s the back??

Where do I start. I’ve been coming to las golondrinas for the last 30 years. On and off. Carnitas burrito. Chile relleno burrito. Always were good. Mostly Laguna Niguel and capó beach locations. Today I visit the mission Viejo location. It was weird to see no customers in line at 11:30 am. Lunch time. There is usually a line. Not anymore and I know why. Cashier, male late 20’s clearly hates his job. Order was taking long. Milanesa torta. I saw the lady in the back wrapping it and I told the guy is that my sandwich. He said NO. After 5 more min he grabs the torta that he said it was not. It was. Just sitting there. Worst meat I have ever had. Could not eat it. I ate the bread with the veggies. Told the ladies in the back that the oil was old and they just ignored me. Sad sad. Where’s the management. Numbers are not good. I’m sure the owners notice and they don’t care anymore. Mom and daughter next to me gave their food back. It was wrong.

Worst mexican food we’ve ever had. The beef tacos were too salty to eat and came in store bought shells. The menudo was terrible and sooooo salty!! Found 2 huge bones in my soup!!!!

Very worst experience in my entire life. Food is dry and tasteless; they skimp on filling their burritos. They have a crazy rule of only “two tiny plastic containers that hold two teaspoons of salsa in each container per order,” regardless of how much you order.
It was my Mom’s 85th birthday and we selected Las Golonsrinas to order a dozen burritos to take-out to my Mom’s home to feed her kids and grandkids. For a dozen burritos, the girl would only give me 4 teaspoons of salsa. I said to her that I will return the over $100.00 order, and we can ring up each burrito as a separate order, so I can get two little plastic container salsas per burrito, OR we can get the Owner on the phone and maybe he will be so appreciative of my larger order that he will break his rule and allow us to have 14-15 salsas (not even 24 salsas as it would be if each burrito is rung up separately). The Owner Steve was awful awful—-belligerent, UN-CARING, UN-APPRECIATIVE for our business, and just plain mean-spirited. I mentioned that all the other Mexican take-outs have a stand (to serve yourself) in the interior, where you can use a Leidal and fill as many plastic containers up with salsa, and he replied, “Then go there instead! I have 7 locations and I don’t need your business.” I was outraged. I had to wait over 30-minutes for the girl to make the return of the dozen burritos, and re-ring each burrito separately, so I could get ample salsa, and according to their rule, I should have received two salsas per order being 24 salsas, and the girl gave me 12 salsas (one salsa per burrito). The girl says to me that she gets paid no matter what, so she doesn’t have to be nice, or kind, or caring—she just needs to show up—-the TUDE TRICKLES DOWN FROM OWNER TO WORKER!! And the burritos were stone dry. Salsa was awful too. “STAY AWAY FROM STEVE’S 7 LOCATIONS OF LOS GOLONDRINAS!!!” A very disappointed Customer of Las Golonsrinas

I have been getting catering trays for years, always great. However, the last 2 times getting trays of Suiza enchiladas warmed, there were so burned on bottom, dry & hardly any sauce. Don’t know what happened with who they have preparing now, but so disappointed. Picked up several trays today, December 27th, the Suiza tray of 12 enchiladas…same thing, burned on bottom, so dry with little sauce. Embarrassing as I had raved how good the enchiladas were. No more, will not order again, Need to find another place to get our enchiladas, mini tacos & been & cheese mini burritos.
