Tartine Bakery absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff was patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable — even during a busy brunch rush.
The standout dish was the soft-cooked scrambled eggs with caviar. Perfectly silky, rich, and buttery, the eggs were cooked to that ideal custardy consistency. The caviar added a beautiful pop of briny flavor that elevated the dish into something truly special. Simple ingredients, executed flawlessly.
Of course, the pastries and bread are phenomenal as always, but the combination of exceptional food and thoughtful service is what really made this visit memorable.
An easy 5 stars — can’t wait to come back.
The mocha was rich and not overly sweet, and the chocolate croissant was perfectly flaky with a generous, gooey chocolate center — easily one of the highlights. The atmosphere is open, modern, and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed brunch or coffee break.
Quality ingredients, consistent flavors, and a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in SF.
We ordered chocolate croissant, mushroom soup, crispy potato, smoked salmon in toast, quiche of the day with a latte. The dishes were hit or a miss. The croissant was not the best. I have had better. I found it hard to bite in. The mushroom soup was on the sour side. Not to my liking.
Loved the quiche, the salmon on toast was yum and so were the potatoes.
It’s a good experience and I might wait a while before I decide to go back.
Bought back a loaf of buttermilk bread and it was yum!
Their tartines and sandwiches are pricey but delicious. The tuna, hummus, avocado sandwich is one of the favorites (can easily be shared). The salmon tartine is also solid, especially with a side of avocado. The banana cream pie is also a must!
For dinner, their meatballs and the Margherita pizza are great, easy options.
All of their pastries are delicious. I particularly love their almond croissant the best. And their country bread — yum!!
The breakfast sandwich is incredible – the eggs are light and fluffy and it has a tasty sauce. My husband loved his omelette too.
The ambiance is great, especially on a sunny day! We love checking out the newsstand and Heath ceramics store next door too!
Breads are better than the croissant pastries. The focaccia smells so good….definitely worth a takeout for next days breakfast.
The Cappuccino is a little confusing to me since the cup is so small in diameter and the foams are not thick. Okay for a bread store~
Given all the other places in the city that do good coffee and pastries I wouldnt come back.
