Ceviche was excellent and super fresh. Tacos were very dry to my taste and did not impress me

Try the fish tacos (yum!!) or fajitas. Fresh peppers with onions and the mixed (beef, chicken, shrimp) or shrimp is good. This gives me a pickup on long work shifts nearby. The lady that answers the phone is always sweet and sometimes they can deliver and walk it over, thank you.

The food was delicious! Everyone from my group was happy with their food options. Plus the agua frescas were so good. You can tell that they make their drinks in house. I will say tho, it took a while for us to get our food. But that’s also because they were short on workers. But the 2 workers were very sweet. I would definitely come back again.

Nearby authentic Mexican restaurant after a long day at the nearby Anime Expo! We were able to get a table for two quite easily at 7. They served us quickly and friendly. We ordered the wet burrito, street tacos and chicken burrito.

The street tacos were delicious! A little drier than I expected however it was still fulfilling! The wait was a bit long but I had a drink ordered which kept me company with the complimentary chips. The waitress was very joyful and even cracked some jokes! Dinner was amazing, thanks El Patroncito!

Mogliest Regards,

This place was delicious. I had enchiladas de pollo con salsa verde y arros con frijoles. The service was great and everyone was really nice. The restaurant has a great atmosphere & great music playing. LA has a lot of great mexican restaurants but this is one of the best I’ve had in a while. Definitely coming back!

This is the first time my fellow reviewers have let me down. I’m very disappointed in this place. To start, the place needed a sweep and a mop. The floor was very
dirty as were the tables. As for the food, the salsa was bland, and for an entree I ordered the carne asada plate, and for $20, I expected carne asada. But instead I got 2 pieces of milanesa. If you know anything about Mexican food, you know those cuts are nothing alike in taste or looks. I really hope this was only an occurrence with my plate, because charging $20 for milanesa is theft. But something tells me this is a regular occurence. Milanesa is usually around $6 or $7 a pound, and ranchera, which is carne asada, can go from $15 to $20 a pound. I let the waitress know, but I hope their management reads my review and knows that there’s Mexican customers who know Mexican food and can tell what good Mexican food is. Honestly, it’s probably my fault for going to Mexican restaurants. I am very critical of the cuisine I cook myself. This food was not good. To pay almost $100 for mediocre food doesn’t feel great and hopefully people that read my review will go somewhere else.

El Patroncito in DTLA is a real find.
Every time I come here, the food is consistently delicious and made with care. The breakfast burrito is huge, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
The chicken milanesa is golden and crispy, served with rice and beans that taste just like home cooking. Comfort food at its best. I also had the chilaquiles incredible. soaked in just the right amount of sauce, topped with eggs and crema. It’s a full-on flavor bomb and definitely one of the best versions I’ve had in LA. The staff here are the heart of the place the waitresses are so kind and welcoming, it really makes the experience special. I’m seriously looking forward to when they get their beer and wine license for a glass of rosé on the patio with chilaquiles. Authentic, delicious, and full of warmth. Highly recommend.

Authentic Mexican food, don’t be discouraged by the looks of the outside, this restaurant is cozy on the inside. The plate presentation is great, we had the asada tacos, al pastor tacos, shredded beef taco and the aguachiles. The shrimp in the aguachiles tasted like it was freshly caught. The rice and beans were impeccable and the horchata was flavored just right. The owner Rodrigo was kind and attentive.

Extremely disappointing experience due to poor communication and customer service.

I did not eat at this restaurant, and that alone should say something.

Last night, my wife went into labor and we welcomed our baby boy. While at the hospital, several nurses recommended this restaurant for chicken soup for my wife. I went out of my way to come here during a very stressful and emotional moment.

When I first arrived, the door was open. I walked in and was told by the manager that they would open in an hour. Based on that information, we decided to wait instead of finding another option.

A couple of hours later, I returned. The door was open, people were inside eating, and everything appeared to be open for business. I walked in again, only to be stopped by the same manager and told they were actually closed for a private party and asked to leave.

This lack of communication and consistency was incredibly frustrating. Had I been told the truth the first time, I would have gone elsewhere and my wife could have eaten much earlier. Instead, valuable time was wasted during an already stressful situation.

Customer service is not just about food, it’s about honesty, clarity, and respect for people’s time. This restaurant failed on all of those fronts.

I would not recommend this place to anyone and will not be returning.
