Zinqué – Malibu

  4.5 – 469 reviews   • French restaurant

Social Profile:

zinqué is a beloved neighborhood hotspot & all-day restaurant serving French-inspired dishes, small plates, craft cocktails & a uniquely curated wine selection. Inspired by the zinc countertop bars & cafés of Paris, many of its customers consider it a second home—a place to work, linger & socialize. Open from 7am till late, the space transforms from a European-style bistro & café, serving full breakfast with La Colombe coffee drinks & its famous Le Bowl for lunch, to full service dining at night. Live music, guest DJs, art workshops & wine tastings also make it a favorite community hangout. (zin-kae)

Stopped by here for lunch on a weekday on the way to explore Malibu. There are a good variety of healthy food options to choose. Overall the food tasted good and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The service is similar to fast casual, where you order at the counter and they bring your food to the table and then you do not see them again. Originally they forgot to bring our smoothies and had to remind them.

If you want good food, a nice atmosphere and dont care too much about service then this is a good place to drop in.

One of the new addition in the Zinqué family, Zinqué Malibu is what happens when good food meets ocean air and everyone collectively agrees to relax. Same reliable Zinqué quality — great coffee, fresh plates, and that effortless French-LA vibe — but with a coastal upgrade. You come for brunch and suddenly you’re lingering like you don’t have anywhere else to be (which feels correct in Malibu).

The atmosphere is breezy and bright, perfect for post-beach hunger or a long catch-up over pastries and lattes. Food is consistently solid, no surprises — which, honestly, is a compliment.

Pro tip: Sit outside if you can, nested in an older Malibu mall you still have the sunshine, palm trees, and people-watching which make everything taste better (again, not scientifically proven, but spiritually accurate)

First time dining at Zinque. As you walk up to the restaurant you have beautiful landscaping with a nice out door sitting area. When you come into the restaurant it’s beautifully decorated and designed. I rated service as a 3 star because I am not a fan of scan a bar code and ordering food online. The place would making the experience so much more pleasant if you actually had the service of a server. Just my opinion about going to a nicer place and being offered great customer service.
The food was absolutely delicious and presentation was great. Pricing was reasonable for the quality of the food.

This is a spot I never miss whenever I visit the Malibu area. Our absolute favorite item here is the croissant.

How can I even describe the feeling of biting into that flaky croissant with a warm cup of coffee? It’s like being in heaven! ^^

They occasionally sell out early, so I sometimes call ahead to make sure they still have croissants in stock. Take a break from your busy routine and treat yourself to the simple luxury of coffee and a croissant while sitting by Malibu Beach.

During the week, it acts like a high end yet casual hangout/study cafe with a full menu. During the weekend, it’s a full service restaurant. The food was generously portioned incredible for the price. The salmon was great and the salad was filling. Would love to come back soon.

”Since it’s Thanksgiving, many restaurants in Malibu were closed, so I tried this spot for the first time because it was open. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. You order at the counter, and they bring the food right to your table, which was a nice system. I noticed they also sell various interesting items, which adds a unique touch. Overall, the food was quite delicious and I enjoyed the experience.”

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise! We’d been in LA and the surrounding area for days, eating poorly and paying a lot, but we finally found a restaurant with good food at a reasonable price! It’s super pretty, with an incredible skylight, a pleasant outdoor area, good music, and fast service. The food looked beautiful and was delicious. Plus, they have some appetizing and healthy options in the display case. We ordered the steak and fries, tuna tartar tartine, salmon carpaccio, and falafel. My baby loved the falafel. There was a highchair, but my only complaint: there’s no changing table in the bathroom. If there were, it would have been a perfect experience!

$66.00 for two people bottled water. Chicken sandwich and hamburger fries. The atmosphere is excellent, good service, this is a high value location so I paid for the experience for the both of us.

Beautiful restaurant, casual, clean, and a nice open airy feel. The restaurant has a very inviting feel to it. We stopped in for lunch before heading up the coast for some sightseeing. I had the Caprese sandwich with gluten-free bread. It’s so hard to find gluten-free bread that doesn’t have a funky texture and doesn’t fall apart when it gets wet from the juices of the food it’s paired with, but this bread was not only yummy but held up as I bit into it. My partner had the Tomato Barrata, and I’m sure he could have eaten an entire pan of it if he could. We both had ordered a Whiskey Sour that didn’t disappoint. I love that they had numerous vegan and gluten-free options.

I met a friend at Zinqué last night and it was such a great Malibu evening — warm atmosphere, beautiful lighting, and a relaxed indoor–outdoor feel that works perfectly for a casual catch-up. We ordered a few shareable appetizers and everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and nicely presented. Their menu is great for small plates, drinks, and long conversations.

Service was friendly and attentive without being rushed, and the staff kept the vibe comfortable throughout the evening. The location is ideal too — easy to pop in before or after a walk through Malibu Village.

A great spot for a laid-back night out with consistently good food, good service, and that signature Malibu ambiance.
