Great little BBQ joint that will not disappoint!! My wife and I both had the $10 AYCE Pork Plates! If you want some Chopped, Carolina Style BBQ….This place will make you happy! Right up to the point where your belly starts hurting. The portions on return trips are the same as your initial order. Parking lot is tight for a Big Truck…..but, we made it! Excellent!

While the outside is not exactly impressive, the inside is clean and has good, traditional BBQ food for a VERY decent cost! I have family members who swear by Fresh Air BBQ and will order pounds of BBQ and coleslaw each time.
That being said, while the actual BBQ itself is EXCELLENT even when without sauce, I’m not a personal fan of the traditional BBQ sides. There is an obvious lack of southern veggies (no fried okra!!!), but let’s be honest, if you are here for veggies, you probably shouldn’t be at a BBQ joint!
Some of the food is cooked en masse earlier in the day and is served from warming trays or from fridge storage. Fries are cooked to order. The interior is exactly what you would expect to see in rural Southern eateries but is INCREDIBLY clean and well maintained! The bathrooms are also clean and the entire establishment smells clean, too, which is an accomplishment when surrounded by smoked and fried food.
It’s great to have a place like this in Bogart, so those of us outside the Athens city limits can enjoy BBQ without having to venture in town (especially on home game days).
I would definitely recommend visiting Fresh Air BBQ at least twice so you can enjoy the nice customer service, the good food, and the quaint atmosphere!

Food is always great. I usually get 2lbs of pulled pork and a pack of buns. It feeds my family of 6.
The service is always wonderful. They have very friendly and helpful employees.
As far as the atmosphere, it’s an old tiny building, but a local gem. They had the dining room closed the last time I went and are only offering take out.
All in all, still a favorite with great BBQ.

I have driven past this restaurant hundreds of times over the last 12 years and finally stopped there and ate yesterday. The barbecue is absolutely delicious. They have three different sauces to choose from. Coleslaw was exactly the way I like it. The portions were very good for the price. I highly recommend them.

Three stars is generous but the service was superb. The pork was just ok, not sure I have had it with so much vinegar before, the slaw would have been good, but it wasn’t fresh yesterday, so 3 or 4 day old slaw isn’t for me! The “vinegar based” sauces left a lot to be desired as there was no other flavor but vinegar, oh and black pepper in the “spicy”, and I am not even going to get started on the Brunswick stew, I ordered a second one because i was so excited about good stew and i didn’t finish the one that come with my pork plate! You can see there is quite the following, and I did read all the good reviews prior, hence the reason I went. I’m sad. Being new to the area I wanted to become a regular.

This food was great..the meat was tender and flavorful…the slaw was delicious and ice cold.. the banana pudding was pretty good too. The sauce is a thin sweet tangy sauce… very good !but don’t expect store bought traditional sauce.. this was different… and very good!

DELICIOUS AND SIMPLE! The prices are more than reasonable for the food. The food itself is delicious. We got the pulled pork for $8. Came with two pieces of white bread, Brunswick Stew and slaw. The slaw was real good, didn’t need any extra seasoning. Wish they had baked beans but that’s a personal preference. The rib plate was $10 and comes with the same sides and 4 ribs! Will definitely make it a habit to come back.

This the best bbque ever. Pork is so tender and flavorful. I really love the vinegar sauce. Bake beans and slaw very flavorful. .they got it going on there. And pork plate was only 8.75. yes.every other place is 12.99 a plate. and up. Keep on doing what you guys are doing. It is Carolina style bque.

I had the pulled pork plate with stew and chips. The pork had good flavor and didn’t require any sauce. Stew had good flavor and I enjoyed it. Great place for BBQ on the far western side of Athens.
